(Dan Tri) - The presidents of Samsung, SK, Hyundai, LG... are all present in Vietnam during President Yoon Suk Yeol's visit. This is the largest delegation in the recent foreign visits of the Korean President.
On June 22, South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol arrived in Hanoi for a three-day state visit. Notably, he was accompanied by a business delegation of 205 representatives of leading Korean enterprises. On the afternoon of June 23, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh met with business associations and large Korean corporations in Hanoi.
Representatives in the delegation include some of Korea's most prominent businessmen such as Mr. Lee Jae-yong - Executive Chairman of Samsung Electronics Group, Mr. Chey Tae-won - Chairman of SK Group and Mr. Euisun Chung - Executive Chairman of Hyundai Group. Representatives of business delegations at the roundtable discussion. This is the largest delegation in President Yoon Suk Yeol's recent overseas visits. The meeting is an opportunity for Korean associations and businesses to directly share their perspectives on the Vietnamese market, and contribute ideas for strategic development, innovation, green growth, etc. The Prime Minister also hopes that after the event, the relationship between the two countries will become more substantial and deeper. Speaking at the event, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh said he was very moved and, on behalf of the Government and ministries, thanked Korean businesses for their great contributions to the relationship between the two countries. "Recently, Vietnam and Korea have upgraded their relationship to a comprehensive strategic partnership. Hopefully, after this event, the relationship between the two countries will become more substantial and profound," said the Prime Minister. At the seminar, Mr. Chey Taewon, Chairman of SK Group, highly appreciated the potential and development capacity of Vietnamese enterprises. In the coming time, Korea wants to cooperate more with Vietnam in areas such as artificial intelligence (AI), environment, and green growth. Sharing with Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, Samsung Group Chairman Jae Yong Lee said "every time I come to Vietnam, I am surprised by its remarkable development". According to Samsung Chairman, Vietnam's development is the development and success of Korean enterprises and Samsung is also extremely honored to accompany Vietnam's development. Mr. Euisun Chung, Chairman of Hyundai Motor Group, affirmed that the company always wants to contribute to Vietnam with convenient and safe vehicles. Hyundai currently operates 3 factories in Vietnam, through cooperation with Thanh Cong Group and Truong Hai. In the future, Hyundai wants to expand investment in the automobile sector, improve the housing environment and carry out projects to contribute to the community in Vietnam. LG is one of the earliest corporations to invest in Vietnam (since 1995) and has expanded into many fields. Mr. Kwang Mo Koo, Chairman of LG Group, revealed that the corporation chose Vietnam as a large-scale production base. In recent times, the Korean corporation has also received many invitations to cooperate, along with active support from the Vietnamese Government and Vietnamese companies. According to Mr. Shin Dong Bin - Chairman of Lotte Group - in order to develop in Vietnam in the past time, Lotte needed great support from the Vietnamese Government. In the near future, this unit is committed to investing more strongly in Vietnam, with projects such as Lotte Mall, Thu Thiem urban area in Ho Chi Minh City. The investment of the Korean "giant" will also create more than 20,000 job opportunities. Hyosung Group Chairman Cho Hyun Joo said that in Vietnam, the group has invested 3.5 billion USD and recorded a profit of 20.1 million USD in 2022. In the near future, the group hopes to receive favorable conditions from the Vietnamese government to promote the development of large projects with high technology content, expanding into the information technology field. "We hope to place the future of the next 100 years in Vietnam," said Cho Hyun Joo. Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh said that Vietnam and South Korea have gone through 30 years, and 30 years ago no one could have imagined such a good and strong relationship as it is now. The Prime Minister was very moved, thanked Korean businesses and hoped that the relationship between the two countries would become more substantial and deeper.
