In the summer of 2022, Da Nang ranked first among the 10 most popular domestic destinations for Vietnamese tourists, according to Booking. In the first quarter, the city of the Han River also ranked second in the list of popular tourist destinations for Vietnamese people, selected by The Outbox Company. In the first three months of this year alone, the total number of guests served by accommodation establishments in the city reached 1.4 million, of which nearly 400,000 were international visitors.
Looking back at the development of the city's tourism, in 2007, Da Nang welcomed one million tourists, although not as many as in the first quarter of this year, it was the highest number at that time. The city on the Han River in 2007 had less than 1,300 hotel rooms. The tourism product system was still rudimentary, mainly exploiting natural landscapes.
With the orientation of developing tourism into a spearhead economic sector, Da Nang has continuously added key projects, starting with Ba Na Hills. Coming here, visitors can take the cable car, admire the Ba Na mountains and forests with diverse vegetation, majestic streams and waterfalls; at the same time, travel and explore many interesting things. These are the French Village with ancient castles, Le Jardin d'Amour with colorful flower carpets; Fantasy Park - a 21,000 m2 indoor entertainment area or Debay - an ancient wine cellar through the mountain of the French that is still preserved to this day. A series of newly launched products such as Sun Waterfall, Moon Castle, Eclipse Square... have further increased the attraction of the tourist area on Ba Na mountain.
