25,000 visitors flocked to the festival during the first two days of the new year.
According to statistics from the Organizing Committee of the 2026 Huong Pagoda Tourism Festival, in the first two days of the Lunar New Year (Year of the Horse), approximately 25,000 tourists visited the Huong Pagoda complex to participate in the festival and enjoy the spring festivities. On February 18th (the second day of the Lunar New Year), the number of visitors increased sharply, estimated at around 20,000. This is a positive sign showing the festival's appeal from the very beginning of the year, while also placing high demands on management, traffic flow control, security, and road and waterway traffic safety.
To date, all aspects of the festival have been implemented synchronously and seriously. All participating forces are present at their assigned locations, carrying out their assigned tasks. The organization of the first two days of the new year has been safe, with no unfortunate incidents recorded. Plans for ensuring security and order, fire prevention and control, rescue operations, food safety, environmental hygiene, and visitor guidance have been implemented systematically and rigorously.

Notably, despite the high number of visitors on the second day of Tet (Lunar New Year), there was no prolonged traffic congestion at locations previously considered "hot spots" during festival seasons, such as Yen Wharf, Thien Tru Wharf, the area around the entrance to Thien Tru Pagoda, or the Huong Tich Cave area. Traffic management, boat and ferry regulation, and visitor guidance were implemented flexibly and promptly, contributing to ensuring a stable and orderly flow of visitors.
According to many visitors, the historical site has undergone a noticeable transformation in appearance and landscape this year. Many businesses encroaching on the site's space have been removed, restoring the original spaciousness, solemnity, and sacredness of the scenic area. The reorganization and rearrangement of business activities not only enhances the aesthetics but also creates a comfortable and civilized atmosphere for pilgrims and worshippers.
On February 18th, the Steering Committee and Organizing Committee of the 2026 Huong Pagoda Tourism Festival directly visited, extended New Year greetings, and held working sessions with the teams and stations serving the festival.
During the working sessions, Mr. Le Van Trang – Chairman of the People's Committee of Huong Son commune and Head of the Organizing Committee of the Huong Pagoda Tourism Festival 2026 – extended his condolences and encouragement to the forces on duty during the joyful Spring Festival days for people nationwide and visitors from all over the country.
The Head of the Organizing Committee acknowledged and highly appreciated the sense of responsibility, effort, and serious work ethic of the officers, soldiers, and workers from the very first day of the event. He also emphasized that the festival season has only just begun, and it is predicted that in the coming days, especially on weekends and during the peak period after the Lunar New Year, the number of visitors will continue to increase. Therefore, all forces need to demonstrate a proactive spirit, enhance their sense of responsibility, and coordinate more closely to ensure the organization of this year's festival is in line with the overall spirit of safety, friendliness, and quality.

The Chairman of the People's Committee of Huong Son commune also requested that each officer, soldier, and service business owner improve their service awareness, maintain a civilized and courteous image, and create a positive impression so that tourists are satisfied when they arrive and comfortable when they leave. In particular, at key areas such as Thien Tru Pagoda, Huong Tich Cave, and places where officers and soldiers stay for extended periods, logistical support must be meticulously ensured. Communal kitchens and resting areas for the forces on duty need to be regularly cleaned, ensuring the best living conditions to help the forces feel secure in their work.
Parking is completely free for all types of cars in all parking lots.
A notable new feature of this year's festival is the stricter management of boat traffic on the Yen Stream. In previous years, the frequent movement of motorboats belonging to law enforcement agencies on the stream significantly impacted the operation of rowboats serving tourists, creating large waves, making it difficult to control the boats, and affecting the tourist experience. In addition, the noise and emissions from the motorboats were also offensive, diminishing the solemnity and tranquility of the festival space.
Drawing on lessons learned from previous seasons, the Organizing Committee of the 2026 Huong Pagoda Tourism Festival has only deployed three motorboats at Yen Wharf, Hoi Bridge, and Thien Tru Wharf, to be ready to respond to emergencies. All personnel involved in organizing the festival, unless dealing with exceptional circumstances, must use hand-rowed boats for transportation. This regulation not only contributes to safety but also preserves the traditional cultural space, allowing visitors to experience the festival journey in the tranquil and peaceful atmosphere characteristic of this picturesque region.
Simultaneously, waterway safety measures have been tightened. All boats departing are required to be fully equipped with life jackets; if life jackets are missing or passengers do not use them, authorities will resolutely refuse departure. The Organizing Committee has deployed personnel to regularly inspect and remind boat operators to strictly comply with regulations. Those who intentionally violate the rules will be fined; serious violations may result in suspension of operations.
This year, the Organizing Committee also applied technology in management and supervision. AI camera systems and drones were installed and operated along the Yen stream to monitor waterway traffic, promptly detecting and handling violations. The application of technology contributes to improving management efficiency, increasing transparency in inspection activities, and supporting rapid response in unforeseen situations.

The festival organizers announced that, starting this year, parking fees for all types of vehicles will be completely waived at all parking lots during the 2026 Huong Pagoda Tourism Festival. This is the latest decision by the festival steering committee to create the most favorable conditions for pilgrims visiting Huong Son.
With thorough preparation, coordinated efforts from all levels and sectors, and a high sense of responsibility from all participating forces, the 2026 Huong Pagoda Tourism Festival is off to a smooth, safe, and orderly start.
The positive results in the early days of Spring are an important foundation for the Organizing Committee to continue effectively implementing tasks throughout the festival season, aiming to build an increasingly civilized and friendly image of Huong Pagoda, worthy of being a typical spiritual and cultural destination of the Capital and the whole country.
