According to the functional sector, currently, the demand for high-quality chicken is increasing sharply, consumers are increasingly concerned about food quality and safety, creating opportunities to develop organic chicken products, free-range chicken and products with clear origins.
Grasping consumer trends, workers have boldly shifted from small, traditional models to large-scale ones, applying high technology, complying with biosafety processes, and meeting strict market requirements.
Raising more than 90,000 chickens, Mr. Tran Huu Nghia (Cai Nhum commune) said: "The farm uses cold chicken coop technology, feeding and drinking using an automatic system, reducing loss rate and reducing labor.
Most importantly, the sterilized and closed environment helps the chickens not be affected by external factors. Thanks to that, the chickens are guaranteed to be healthy and less susceptible to disease.
Having raised chickens for more than 6 years, Mr. Tran Minh Chi (Trung Hiep commune) said: Initially, he only raised about 1,000 fighting chickens and raised them 2 crops/year. Seeing the effectiveness, he has now grown to 11,000 chickens with a raising area of about 6,000m². Chickens are raised in the form of free-range farming, combined with raising in coconut gardens, both taking advantage of space and helping the coconuts grow better.
Thanks to biosafety technology, the chickens are fully vaccinated, so the chickens grow well, sell for high prices, and have stable purchasing sources. With the price of bantam chickens from 68,000 VND/kg, fighting chickens from 80,000 VND/kg, after deducting costs, the profit is quite high (on average, 1,000 chickens make a profit of about 30 million VND).
“To achieve high efficiency in the industry, we must pay attention to monitoring the health of the chickens and providing enough drinking water, clean food, and adequate nutrition; strictly follow biosafety industrial processes; regularly clean and disinfect the barn, clean the feeders and waterers, ensure enough heat and light, and limit people entering and leaving the industrial area,” Mr. Viet shared.
Mr. Nguyen Van The - civil servant of Trung Hiep Commune Economic Department said: Recently, the commune has focused on shifting the economic structure, including a concentrated chicken industry model towards biosafety.
The locality has also coordinated training for people on biosafety technology, how to build barns to ensure the prescribed distance, choose breeds of clear origin, and how to prevent diseases.
Thanks to the application of advanced technology and production linkage, the chicken farming model has become an important economic development direction, contributing to increasing income and improving people's lives in the commune.
In Ngai Tu commune, Mr. Le Hoang An - Chairman of the Commune People's Committee also said: The commune has mobilized people to maintain and develop poultry flocks, encouraged households to develop in a concentrated direction, apply science and technology in industry, biosafety, and environmental protection.
Accordingly, the total poultry flock reached 101.36% of the plan, forming a number of large-scale, disease-free concentrated poultry farms.
Develop in a safe, focused direction
According to the Department of Agriculture and Environment, in recent times, the industrial sector has developed in the direction of increasing productivity, improving the quality of breeds, and developing biosafety and disease-safe industrial models.
The organic farming model has initially achieved high economic efficiency and is gradually being popularized and replicated.
For the industry to develop sustainably, the authorities recommend that poultry farmers pay attention to market developments. Choose breeding stock from reputable suppliers to ensure quality.
Increase the use of biological bedding to treat waste. Fully implement vaccination, disinfection, and industrial environmental sanitation to ensure epidemic safety.
In the coming time, the agricultural sector will continue to develop poultry farming in an industrial, biosafe, and environmentally friendly direction; organize concentrated industrial zones, treat waste according to the circular economic model; implement solutions to support the development of concentrated industrial zones, farm scale in the direction of biosafety, disease safety, and environmental protection.
Develop and implement the Provincial Industrial Development Project to 2030, with a vision to 2050, striving to have an estimated total poultry herd of about 27.5 million by 2030, with egg production of all kinds of 518 million eggs, applying biosafety and disease-safe technology.
