Tourists visit and experience Ha Den vineyard in Cao Phong district

In Cao Phong district (Hoa Binh province), the Ha Den grape model combined with experiential tourism has initially proven its effectiveness.

Cao Phong district aims to make tourism and services a key economic sector by 2025 with an average growth rate of 15% or more, bringing the industry's proportion to 30% by 2025 and 40% by 2030.

Determining to promote tourism development to become a key economic sector, the locality has exploited its advantages, developed various types of tourism, following the orientation of linking tourism with the preservation and promotion of the values of cultural heritage of ethnic groups, natural heritage, landscapes, ecological environment; developing green tourism products, friendly to the environment. The locality has improved the quality of community tourism products associated with ecology, clean agriculture at potential tourist destinations.

With the topic "Research on the application of technical advances to build a model for growing Ha Den grapes in Cao Phong district" deployed from May 2023, invested in an area of more than 3,000 m2 of greenhouses, Ha Den grapes have been grown and cared for organically to create a safe product line for consumers.

After more than 1 year of implementation, the Ha Den grapevine has grown and developed well, and is currently entering the second harvest, with an estimated yield of 9 tons/ha/crop. In particular, the model has also become a tourist destination for many visitors who want to visit, take photos, and experience the feeling of harvesting ripe bunches of grapes to enjoy.

Black Summer grapes are harvested twice a year, the first crop from late May to mid-July; the second crop from October to December. The lifespan of a Black Summer grape plant is about 10 years, and if well cared for, it can last up to 15 years. The harvest period lasts about 2.5 months; after deducting costs, the profit is about 80 million VND/ha/crop.

At Ha Den vineyard, many tourists from inside and outside the province have come to experience and enjoy, and buy grapes as gifts for their families. This promises to be a new direction in effectively combining agricultural production with tourism to bring sustainable economic efficiency. Ms. Nguyen Thi Nhan (a tourist from Do Son, Hai Phong province) said: "With this model, I am sure that in the coming time, Hoa Binh will attract many tourists to this land. Hoa Binh people are very hospitable and friendly. The climate is fresh, cool, the scenery is quite beautiful and attracts everyone".

Cao Phong District Party Secretary Bui Thi Kim Tuyen said that the development of local tourism products has had many changes, with initial formation of tours and tourist routes to promote and attract investment. In addition, the district has always paid attention to building mechanisms and policies to support and attract investment in tourism development, creating favorable conditions for organizations and businesses in the area. The Ha Den grape growing model has achieved high efficiency and has prospects, contributing to promoting the development of green, sustainable agricultural models, protecting the environment and increasing income and production value per unit of cultivation.

The agricultural model associated with community tourism in Hoa Binh has been contributing to the sustainable development of agriculture and rural areas, exploiting the values of local resources, especially the intrinsic values of agricultural production activities to create income in addition to pure products for farmers.

Ông Trần Ngọc Phúc, xóm Tân Sơn, xã La Bằng (Đại Từ): “Vừa nuôi cá Tầm kết hợp làm dịch vụ ăn uống phục vụ du khách đến thăm quan, gia đình tôi không phải lo đầu ra sản phẩm mà lại có thêm nguồn thu nhập, ổn định cuộc sống”.
Mr. Tran Ngoc Phuc, Tan Son hamlet, La Bang commune (Dai Tu): "Both raising sturgeon and providing food services for tourists, my family does not have to worry about product output but has an additional source of income, stabilizing life"

Immersing yourself in the cool stream water, enjoying sturgeon, hill chicken, wild vegetables, bamboo shoots... right in the middle of the mountains and forests with the chirping of birds, breathing the fresh air... are interesting experiences that attract tourists when coming to Kem stream, La Bang commune, Dai Tu (Thai Nguyen).

Ms. Nguyen Thi Tho, a tourist from Hung Son town (Dai Tu) shared: At the end of the school year, some families and I organized for our children to visit Suoi Kem. I found this to be a very interesting experience, the children could see the green tea hills with their own eyes and bathe in the cool stream. These activities help children get closer to nature, gain more life skills and knowledge about agricultural production. In addition, the prices of services are reasonable, not expensive but the quality is quite good.

Mr. Tran Ngoc Phuc, one of the households providing food services here, shared: My family currently raises 4 sturgeon tanks with a volume of about 150 m3, with a scale of over 1,500 fish to process and serve tourists who come to visit. The dishes we prepare from sturgeon include: salad, fried fish, steamed fish, grilled fish, fish porridge... In the summer, almost every day my family has guests coming to bathe in the stream and ordering an average of 10 trays of rice/day. From the model of raising fish and providing food services, on average each year, my family also has an income of over 500 million VND.

Or in Thanh Hoa, on weekends, many families, tourists, young men and women, and photographers have come to the flower fields in Tao Xuyen ward, Thanh Hoa city, to admire the brilliant fields of daisies, butterflies, buckwheat, and canola flowers competing to show off their colors. Previously, people in Tao Xuyen ward specialized in growing canola to sell vegetables and get seeds. For nearly 10 years now, people have switched to business, charging visitors to come and take photos. The shift to business to welcome visitors to come and take photos helps farmers have a better income than growing crops.

Mr. Tao Quang Tuan, Street 2, Tao Xuyen Ward, said: For each person who comes here to take photos, the flower growers earn 40,000 VND, regardless of time. Visitors coming here, in addition to sightseeing and enjoying the fresh air, can also freely take photos as souvenirs. According to Mr. Tuan's calculations, with 6 sao of alluvial land, by sowing flowers to serve the needs of sightseeing and tourism, in the last 3 months of the year, his family will earn a profit of about 100 - 120 million VND, 3 - 4 times higher than growing to harvest consumer products.

Preserving and developing brocade weaving associated with community tourism development

Currently, Ba Thuoc district (Thanh Hoa) has more than 100 accommodation establishments, of which 81 establishments welcome guests in the form of community tourism, accommodation, resorts, and Homestay with more than 200 local people directly managing and running tourism business. The consistent viewpoint of Ba Thuoc district and the Homestay households here is to strive for visitors to experience typical agricultural models imbued with the unique culture of the Thai and Muong ethnic groups through eating, staying and living together in the traditional stilt houses of the people. Therefore, the Homestays still retain the traditional features surrounded by terraced rice fields but are fully equipped with amenities, ensuring visitors have a safe and attractive excursion and rest.

Thanks to the policy of developing community ecotourism in the right direction, along with the dynamic and sensitive nature, methodical and professional tourism methods of businesses and households, the number of tourists to community tourism destinations in Ba Thuoc district has increased rapidly over the years. In 2017, it welcomed 20,000 visitors, of which international visitors were over 5,800; by 2020, it welcomed over 50,000 visitors. Tourism revenue was over 21 billion VND in 2017, increasing to over 50 billion VND in 2020.

The agricultural model associated with community tourism has been contributing to the sustainable development of agriculture and rural areas, exploiting the values of local resources. The development of agriculture associated with community tourism not only has the meaning of creating different tourism products, but it is also an effective method to maintain, preserve and preserve traditional cultural values specific to each locality, contributing to increasing income for people.
