Understand modern warfare and modern operations to train and build appropriate military structures.

On the morning of December 2, General Nguyen Tan Cuong, member of the Party Central Committee, member of the Central Military Commission, Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army, Deputy Minister of National Defense chaired a specialized scientific conference on military science and art.

Attending the workshop were Senior Lieutenant General Le Huy Vinh, member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Minister of National Defense ; Deputy Chiefs of the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army: Senior Lieutenant General Huynh Chien Thang, member of the Party Central Committee; Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Nghia; Senior Lieutenant General Pham Truong Son; Lieutenant General Nguyen Ba Luc.

Leaders of the Ministry of National Defense, the General Staff, the General Department of Politics and delegates attended the workshop.

Attending the workshop were Lieutenant General Do Xuan Tung, Deputy Director of the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army; representatives of heads of agencies, units, academies and schools throughout the army.

At the workshop, the presentations focused on clarifying a number of issues on modern warfare, modern operations, impacts on training, combat readiness and the development of Vietnamese military art. At the same time, solutions were proposed and recommended to improve the quality of training, combat readiness, research, adjustment and supplementation of training materials and teaching materials in accordance with the art of operations and organization of the Army in the new situation.

Concluding the workshop, General Nguyen Tan Cuong assigned tasks to agencies and units throughout the army to focus on implementing research on scientific and technological tasks, researching, compiling, and editing the system of regulations, rules, training materials, and teaching materials, focusing on innovating content and methods.
