Speaking with VietNamNet, Mr. Hoang Quang Dat, Principal of Lao Cai College, said that immediately after the incident, the school sent someone to take the student to the hospital for examination and at the same time, stood guard at the dormitory.

"The most important goal right now is to stabilize the children's health and promptly handle any arising cases," Mr. Dat shared.

In addition, Mr. Dat said that the school has directed the temporary suspension of the kitchen operations at the canteen to coordinate with health authorities to evaluate and find the cause of the incident.

Authorities are investigating this incident.

Earlier, on the morning of October 9, 3 students of the school showed symptoms of fever, abdominal pain, vomiting, and loose stools and were taken to the hospital for monitoring and treatment. That same afternoon, 3 more students were admitted to the hospital with similar symptoms.

After receiving the above information, Lao Cai College checked and sent 34 more students with symptoms of poisoning to the hospital.

Most of the cases developed symptoms and were hospitalized after having dinner on October 8 at the school cafeteria. Currently, the students are being monitored and treated, and their health is stable.
