Professor Nguyen Van Minh advised his students to accompany their parents to protect their childhood, during his last closing ceremony as Principal of Hanoi Pedagogical University.
At the school’s graduation ceremony on June 9, Professor Nguyen Van Minh shared about the responsibilities ofeducators and gave many words of advice to the new graduates. This was the last time he saw students off as principal.
According to Mr. Minh, the responsibility of educators is always to accompany each person to change for the better. He advises future teachers to work with parents to protect children's childhood.
"Let's get rid of the idea of turning children into excellent experts, and always remember to educate children to know how to love, care, and share with those close to them," he said.
According to Mr. Minh, each student is an ambassador to tell parents not to force their children to mature and become tools to realize their ambitions. This is a painful issue, discussed a lot in recent years, especially before important exams such as the 10th grade exam or university entrance exam.
In addition, the Principal of Hanoi Pedagogical University advised future teachers to teach children how to behave in a civilized and appropriate digital environment before teaching them more profound things.
"A little more knowledge does not make you famous. Cultivating more love for people, nature, and the village is the launching pad for the future. Losing the innocence and purity of children is a sin," Mr. Minh shared.

In the closing ceremonies of previous school years, Mr. Minh always reminded students about love and gratitude. This time, he continued to emphasize that it was "a painful and worrying thing".
Mr. Minh asked a series of questions: "Is it heartbreaking when a student has to endure loneliness and say goodbye to life alone? Is it worth pondering when someone helps an old lady cross the street as a symbol of kindness, when that should be a normal thing? Is it heavy-hearted when children go to school with fear and anxiety?"
According to him, students should not think that it is just an individual because every person must be loved, not indifferent or apathetic.
In addition, the Principal of Hanoi National University of Education expressed gratitude to the school's parents. According to him, there are parents who do not have a proper education, do not have a birthday cake or light candles to celebrate their children's birthdays, but always silently sacrifice so that their children can have everything.

The speech of the principal of Hanoi National University of Education received a big round of applause from parents and students present in the hall. Trinh Quang Thach, a new Bachelor of Geography Education, spoke emotionally and deeply about the teacher's words.
"It was not a normal speech but a lecture about love for humanity with very practical advice," Thach said. The male student remembered the saying "Don't let learning take away children's innocence."
Along with Thach, more than 1,300 students of Hanoi National University of Education were recognized as graduates in the 2022-2023 school year, including 264 students graduating with honors.
Professor Nguyen Van Minh, 60 years old, from Quang Tri , used to be a Physics teacher before becoming the principal of Hanoi National University of Education in 2013. He said that after completing his two terms as principal at the end of this year, he will return to teaching at the school.
