Principal: "The school doesn't know how to pay the debt if Nuoi Em stops supporting."

(Dan Tri) - With the "Nuoi Em" project sponsoring meals for hundreds of ethnic minority students in border areas, some schools in Dak Lak are worried when the project's account was announced to be temporarily frozen.

Cu M'lan Primary School (Ea Sup Commune, Dak Lak Province) has more than 900 students, of which more than 170 have been sponsored by the "Nuoi Em" project for many years.

Ms. Tran Thi Thuy, Principal of Cu M'lan Primary School, said that the school's boarding and semi-boarding students are supported with 8,500 VND/meal by this project. The meal support helps parents reduce the economic burden and the school maintains the kitchen operation, providing more nutritious meals for students.

According to Ms. Thuy, most of the boarding students at the school are ethnic minorities who have migrated freely and are in very difficult circumstances, with their houses 15-25km away from the school.

"The "Nuoi Em" project has supported the students a lot. Without this support, it would be very difficult for the school to maintain boarding activities," shared the Principal of Cu M'lan Primary School.

Ms. Thuy said that Mr. Hoang Hoa Trung - the founder of the "Nuoi Em" project - had come to the locality to survey, learn and support the school in building 12 boarding rooms and a kitchen for students.

"I also read in the press and on social networks that this project is having a scandal. Personally, I really hope that the "Nuoi Em" project will continue to operate to support students. If the project stops completely, I don't know how to take care of the students' meals and study with peace of mind," said Ms. Thuy.

The principal of Cu M'lan Primary School revealed that according to the contract between the school and the "Nuoi Em" project, after the school organizes meals for 2 months, the project will reimburse the meal fees. Up to now, the meal fees for September, October and November have not been paid by this unit.

"The project representative said the account is temporarily suspended but will definitely be transferred back to the school. I hope everything goes smoothly, because the school owes money for food from suppliers. If there is no money, the school really does not know how to pay," said Ms. Thuy.

At Ea Le Secondary School (Ea Sup Commune), the "Feeding Children" project has been running for the past 4 years. Currently, the project supports meals for 62 disadvantaged students.

According to Mr. Nguyen Anh Tuan, Vice Principal of Ea Le Secondary School, before the project funded the school's students, Mr. Hoang Hoa Trung went to the locality to verify the students' cases.

"I don't know how the "Nuoi Em" project is in other schools, but in my school, the funding is very regular. The school's students are greatly helped by the project. The school hopes the project will continue to operate to support students in border areas," said Mr. Tuan.

Mr. Tuan added that most of the students are free migrants, many of whose families do not have a local household registration. Before the "Feeding Children" project, many students' meals consisted of only dried fish and instant noodles.

Ea Sup commune leaders said that the unit will request a number of schools in the area that are supported by the "Nuoi Em" project to report on the actual situation so that the locality can specifically and accurately grasp the related contents.

According to research, in Dak Lak, the "Nuoi em" project not only supports students in the border commune of Ea Sup but also sponsors a number of schools in Krong Buk district and Buon Ho town (old).

Recently, social networks have been abuzz with information about the "Raising Children" project's lack of transparency with its benefactors.

Mr. Hoang Hoa Trung announced freezing the project account from 10:00 p.m. on December 7, expected for 15 days.

“Nuoi em” is a charity project founded by Mr. Hoang Hoa Trung in 2014, with the goal of bringing nutritious lunches to students in mountainous areas.

Each benefactor can “adopt” a child through a small daily contribution, helping schools maintain their kitchens and significantly reducing the number of students dropping out of school.

From a small group, the project has grown into an ecosystem supporting children in the highlands with many activities such as building schools, building boarding houses, providing clean water and bookcases.
