Man United won an important 4-1 victory over Wolverhampton Wanderers (Wolves) at Molineux (early morning of December 9). After the match, coach Ruben Amorim revealed that it was his frank speech at halftime that inspired and helped the Red Devils to strongly revive in the second half.

After Bruno Fernandes opened the scoring, the home team Wolves surprisingly equalized thanks to Jean-Ricner Bellegarde just before the end of the first half. This left Man United entering the dressing room with many problems to solve.

Coach Amorim insisted the change was not tactical, but mental and concentration. "It was not a tactical issue. It was clear we were dominating the game but we were not finishing the moves as expected.

We need to pay more attention to every detail. I tried to explain to the players that Man United have 45 minutes to get 3 important points for their lives."

Next, the Portuguese coach also asked to improve the quality of shots and focus more on protecting the goal.

In addition, coach Amorim also reserved special praise for midfielder Mason Mount - who scored his third goal this season and all came in his last four Premier League appearances.

"It's not just the goals Mason Mount scores, it's the way he plays - the way he attacks, defends, he knows his technical qualities. Mason Mount is a really good player and works hard. He knows sometimes he needs to start from the bench," the 40-year-old coach shared.

With this victory, Man United rose to 6th place in the rankings, just 1 point behind a position to participate in the UEFA Champions League.

Although the team has only lost once in the last 9 matches, coach Amorim still maintains a humble attitude. He believes that 6th place means nothing and emphasizes: "We should have got more points. But that is the past, let's focus on the future."
