Coach Kim Sang-sik satisfied with U23 Vietnam's opening match

(NLDO) - Defeating U23 Laos with a score of 3-0 thanks to a goal by Van Khang and a double by Hieu Minh on July 19, U23 Vietnam completed its mission on the opening day of the tournament.

Evaluating the performance of U23 Vietnam against U23 Laos, coach Kim Sang-sik expressed his satisfaction: "I am very happy with the 3-0 victory in the first match. On behalf of the whole team, I would like to thank the Vietnamese fans who cheered and followed the home team."

The Korean strategist analyzed: "U23 Laos played tight defense from the start, but we tried hard to find opportunities and scored the opening goal. Importantly, U23 Vietnam knew how to maintain the balance between defense and attack to control the game and preserve the results."

When asked about the fact that 2 out of 3 goals of U23 Vietnam came from defenders, instead of strikers, coach Kim Sang-sik emphasized: "Who scores is not important, what is important is that the team scores and wins. I would like to congratulate Hieu Minh for his impressive performance and double in this match."

Evaluating U23 Indonesia, the team that won all two matches in Group A and is considered the top candidate for the championship, Mr. Kim commented: "Indonesia is a well-organized team. We need to focus on each match according to the plan and set goals. This is the most important thing right now, we should not think further."

Coach Kim Sang-sik affirmed that U23 Vietnam is not afraid of any opponent in the semi-finals and the whole team will maintain the highest level of concentration, follow the right tactics, and promote their own abilities.

Center back Nguyen Hieu Minh was voted the best player of the match, sharing: "The two goals on the opening day of the tournament gave me more motivation to try harder in the next matches. Thank you to the fans who have always followed and supported the team."
