On the afternoon of December 2, the Vietnam U22 team had a training session at RBAC University (Bangkok) to prepare for the opening match against Laos U22 at SEA Games 32 taking place tomorrow.
U22 Laos is considered weaker, but the U22 Vietnam team still cannot be subjective. Because the first match is always difficult, the opponent defends in large numbers, making it difficult to penetrate.
As in the final qualifying round for the 2027 Asian Cup in November, the Vietnamese team had to struggle to beat Laos 2-0. Notably, the Laos team had 8 U22 players in the starting lineup.
Therefore, despite being confident in his team's ability, coach Kim Sang Sik still couldn't help but be pensive during the final tactical training session to prepare for the match.
In the pre-training exchange, the Korean coach also demonstrated a rather strange move (raising his arms across his neck), different from usual.
In contrast to the coach, the players practiced with great energy and comfort. All aimed at winning the opening match, creating momentum for the journey to conquer the gold medal.
