Coach Kim Sang Sik: "Vietnam U23 will beat China U23 and reach the final."

(Dan Tri Newspaper) - Vietnam U23 will face China U23 in the semi-finals of the Asian U23 Championship on the evening of January 20th. Before the match, coach Kim Sang Sik affirmed that the team has good morale and is ready to win to advance to the final.

“We feel very happy and proud to be in the semi-finals, which bring together top Asian teams like U23 South Korea, U23 Japan, and U23 China. Looking back on the journey, from the opening match to the quarter-finals, U23 Vietnam has always faced many challenges when encountering strong opponents. Despite this, the whole team has shown a strong fighting spirit and composure in their gameplay in each match. It is these things that have helped us to be here at this point,” Coach Kim Sang Sik shared at the press conference before the U23 Asian Championship semi-final on the afternoon of January 19th.

Vietnam U23 will face China U23 in the semi-final of the 2026 AFC U23 Asian Championship on the night of January 20th to determine the finalist. Prior to this semi-final, both teams have remained undefeated. Vietnam U23 has won all four of their matches, while China U23 has had two draws and two wins (one on penalties).

“The Vietnam U23 team will face the China U23 team tomorrow. This can be considered a new challenge, a very difficult one. Nevertheless, the whole team will play with courage and the utmost effort to achieve the set goal,” added coach Kim Sang Sik.
