According to the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF), the Vietnam national team under the direction of coach Philippe Troussier traveled to Nam Dinh on June 18 to prepare for an international friendly match with the Syrian national team, within the framework of FIFA Days in June 2023.
Before departing for Thanh Nam, Coach Troussier and his colleagues also shortened the list to 30 players to prepare for this match.
Specifically, the French strategist kept 21 out of 23 players on the list registered to play in the match against Hong Kong (China) on June 15 at Lach Tray Stadium ( Hai Phong ).
He also selected 6 additional players from the Vietnam national team and promoted 3 more players from the Vietnam U23 team who did not play in the friendly match with Hong Kong to the list to prepare for the match with the Syria national team.
