Laos U22 coach highly appreciates Kim Sang-sik's ability

(NLDO) - Before the match against U22 Vietnam, the coach of the U22 Laos team said that his team will be more mature if they have the chance to compete with Mr. Kim Sang-sik's team.

Coach Ha Hyeok-jun is no stranger to his colleague Kim Sang-sik, having faced each other in the final qualifying round of the 2027 Asian Cup. Both strategists come from Korean football with a diverse and modern attacking philosophy.

At the press conference before the opening day of the men's football group stage of the 33rd SEA Games, the coach of the Laos U22 team said that the whole team has worked hard to practice and prepare very carefully for the tournament. However, Mr. Ha Hyeok-jun also affirmed that football has many unexpected developments and it is difficult to predict the result of the match between the two teams tomorrow or the following matches.

Coach Ha Hyeok-jun also praised the level and class of Vietnamese football and his compatriot Kim Sang-sik. He said: “I have known coach Kim Sang-sik for a long time. He is a good coach and has built a strong team. Having faced his team, I believe the Lao team will become more mature.”

Talking about the competition opportunities of U22 Laos, Mr. Ha expects: "In terms of format, we only need 1 win and 1 draw in the group stage to have a great chance of reaching the semi-finals. Although this task is not easy, we will try our best and prepare best to enter the challenge."

Coach Ha Hyeok-jun believes his team will improve when competing with U22 Vietnam.

On the occasion of Lao National Day December 2, Coach Ha Hyeok-jun expressed his hope that his team will play with dedication to give fans a performance that will satisfy them.

“Laos is a country with about 7-8 million people, the population may be the smallest in the region but football fans here are very passionate. Vietnamese fans also love football no less. Although the population size or country is different, the love for football is the same. Today is Laos' National Day, I hope we can contribute our best to bring a good match” - Coach Ha Hyeok-jun shared.

U22 Vietnam will meet U22 Laos in the opening match of Group B on the afternoon of December 3. The winning team on the opening day will have an advantage in the race for a ticket to the semi-finals of the men's football event of the 33rd SEA Games.
