Speaking about the secret to their resounding victory over China U23, a team that hadn't conceded a single goal until the final, Coach Oiwa Go said: "China U23 is a team with a very solid defense. The fact that we scored the opening goal, and then quickly added a second, was the decisive factor."
Coach Oiwa Go lavished praise on his players after their victory against China U23. Interestingly, the Japan U23 team participating in the Asian U23 Championship was actually composed of U21 players, including several university students.
The head coach of the Japanese U23 team shared: “The players followed our plan perfectly. The fact that the Japanese U23 team won the championship is the clearest evidence of their maturity.”
