According to updated data from Vietnam Electricity (EVN), by the end of August 11, transitional renewable energy projects had sent documents to the Electricity Trading Company for price negotiations, and the power purchase agreement (PPA) had reached nearly 93%, after more than 3 months of urging. There were 6 projects with a total capacity of nearly 285 MW that had not yet sent documents for electricity price negotiations to EVN.
In the group that submitted documents, 67 projects (with a capacity of nearly 3,850 MW) proposed a temporary price equal to half of the ceiling price frame of the Ministry of Industry and Trade , which is 754-908 VND/kWh (excluding VAT), depending on the type of solar or wind power source. EVN and the investor have negotiated prices and signed PPA contracts with 59 projects, and 58 of these projects have been approved by the Ministry of Industry and Trade for temporary prices (total capacity of more than 3,181 MW).

To date, 18 projects have completed commercial operation (COD), generating electricity to the grid, with a total capacity of more than 952MW. The cumulative electricity output of renewable energy projects transitioning from COD to August 10 is about 268 million kWh. This mobilization level has nearly doubled compared to nearly a month ago. On average, each day, these projects "contribute" to the national power system about 0.4% of the total mobilized electricity output.
The total capacity of renewable energy projects that are behind schedule is more than 4,600 MW. Of these, nearly 2,100 MW of 34 transitional projects have completed construction and testing. These projects will not enjoy preferential prices (FIT prices) for 20 years and must negotiate electricity prices with EVN according to the electricity generation framework issued by the Ministry of Industry and Trade earlier this year, with prices 20-30% lower than before.
