On March 25, the project "Grow My Business: Capacity Building and Supporting the Development of Women-Led Small, Micro and Growing Enterprises in Vietnam" was officially launched.
This is a meaningful project implemented by the Center for Women and Development (Vietnam Women's Union) with support from the Asia Foundation (a non-profit international development organization, headquartered in the US, specializing in supporting governance, overcoming climate change, promoting gender equality) and Visa.
Speaking at the launching ceremony, Ms. Duong Thi Ngoc Linh - Director of the Center for Women and Development - said that the project is of special importance to female entrepreneurs, with business knowledge provided free of charge, helping women have more opportunities to grow their businesses.
Before coming to Vietnam, this initiative was successfully implemented in Malaysia and Indonesia, helping 6,500 female business owners receive training and guidance on improving digital skills.
"Grow My Business" continues to expand to Vietnam with the aim of reaching and supporting 25,000 female entrepreneurs to grow their businesses and actively participate in the digital economy .
According to Ms. Linh, the center hopes that the project's effectiveness will not stop at 25,000 women accessing knowledge and developing their capacity through online lectures, but more importantly, the economic development of women and their families in the locality, contributing to improving the quality of life for Vietnamese women.
Within the framework of the project, many training courses on start-up and business management skills, supplementing financial knowledge, and equipping female entrepreneurs with basic digital environment skills will be organized with the participation of 400 to 500 grassroots staff/course.
Along with that are training sessions, seminars, and self-study groups.
The training courses focus on three key issues: basic skills in business start-up and management; basic financial skills; digital platform skills.
By providing digitaleducation and financial management to women-owned businesses and vulnerable groups, facilitating their access to comprehensive finance, the project hopes to contribute to the implementation of the startup program, digital transformation program, as well as the national financial inclusion strategy in Vietnam.
