Helping a French-Vietnamese find his lost relatives after many years

On November 12, Tan Thanh Ward Police, Ho Chi Minh City, said that the unit had assisted a French-Vietnamese man in finding his relatives after 13 years of losing contact.

Previously, at around 10:15 a.m. on November 10, Tan Thanh Ward Police received information from Mr. Bui Hoang Tung (born in 1977, French nationality) asking for help finding his relative, his aunt named Duong Thi My Nga (born in 1963) after 13 years of losing contact.

Mr. Tung said that because his family had moved to France, they did not remember where their aunt was or what she was doing. The family had searched for her many times but had no results. They only knew that her aunt was in Trang Lon, Phu My, Chau Thanh.

Immediately after receiving the information, with a high sense of responsibility, Tan Thanh Ward Police assigned Captain Nguyen Bao Trung, a local police officer, to urgently verify and compare information through the National Population Data System, and directly go to neighborhoods and areas to check for the person named above to search.

After just over an hour of active verification, Captain Nguyen Bao Trung found a person with information similar to the person Mr. Tung was looking for. At 11:30 a.m. the same day, Captain Nguyen Bao Trung helped take Mr. Tung to Mrs. Nga's house to meet her and Mr. Tung confirmed that this was his aunt.

Immediately after finding his relative after many years of searching, Mr. Bui Hoang Tung sent a thank you letter to Tan Thanh Ward Police expressing his appreciation for the sense of responsibility for serving the people of the Ward Police force and Captain Nguyen Bao Trung.
