| Staff of the Center for Agricultural Extension and Environment of Thai Nguyen province instruct farmers on the use of probiotics to improve soil after flooding. |
In Quyet Thang village, Mrs. Ha Thi Tuoi's family is busy renovating a chili garden of more than 1,200 square meters. After the flood, nearly 70% of the chili area was damaged due to waterlogging and root rot. "The family has been relying on the chili garden for the whole season, but now it's almost ruined. Luckily, agricultural extension officers have supported us with probiotics, instructions on soil treatment, pruning and disease prevention after the flood, so we have the motivation to start again," Mrs. Tuoi shared.
Not only Mrs. Tuoi's household, the entire Tan Ky commune suffered heavy damage. Preliminary statistics show that in the area, there are about 23.68 hectares of rice, 22.56 hectares of annual crops, 6.06 hectares of perennial crops, 8.78 hectares of forestry trees and 3.86 hectares of aquaculture area affected. In Phay Ra village, the flood also buried 100 kg of ginger, 1,000 kg of squash and many other crop areas.
Ms. Ngoc Thi Phung, a technical officer of the Provincial Center for Agricultural Extension and Environment, who directly provided technical guidance to the people, said: To help farmers restore production, the Center has provided 300 packages of EMUNVI microbial products to 300 households. This product improves the soil environment after flooding, quickly decomposes organic residues, eliminates odors, limits pathogens and regenerates beneficial microorganisms, creating conditions for plants to recover and develop sustainably.

In addition, the local government also mobilized youth, militia and farmers' association to help poor households clear mud, dredge canals and repair irrigation systems. The organizations mobilized socialization to provide seeds and agricultural materials.
Mr. Bui Nguyen Quynh, Vice Chairman of the Commune People's Committee, said: We are reviewing the damage and proposing support from the province to help people quickly stabilize and restore production before the winter-spring crop.
Along with the restoration of damaged areas, many households in Tan Ky have also entered the peak rice harvest season. Thanks to the use of modern agricultural machinery, harvesting is quick, reducing losses after floods, saving costs and effort.
From the still-watered fields, laughter and chatter resounded as people started to renovate and plant. Despite many difficulties, with the practical support of all sectors and levels, the confidence of Tan Ky people is returning.
The story in Tan Ky is not only an image of recovery after natural disasters, but also demonstrates the spirit of solidarity and unity of Thai Nguyen people in the journey of overcoming difficulties, stabilizing production and moving towards a bright new crop.
