
Recorded at Dong Tac fishing port ( Phu Yen ward) on the morning of November 11, hundreds of fishermen prepared necessities, ice and completed procedures at the fishing port to go to sea. During storm No. 13, boats anchored in this area were not damaged, so going to sea after the storm was smooth. Dong Tac fishing port management board has arranged forces to support people to quickly go to sea to exploit aquatic products.
Mr. Nguyen Huu Phi (captain of fishing boat number PY-96049) said: Thanks to the authorities' guidance to anchor safely during storm No. 13, his boat was not damaged. Currently, the weather is sunny, the wind is calm, the sea is calm, so he urgently set out to sea to catch tuna in the Truong Sa archipelago fishing grounds. The spirit of his fellow fishermen is very excited, promising a successful voyage.
Meanwhile, in the Vung Chao area (Xuan Dai Bay), where many boats were damaged in storm No. 13 in Dak Lak province, fishermen urgently brought their boats ashore for repairs to go out to sea for fishing. Dozens of cranes and transport vehicles were brought to support fishermen.
Mr. Nguyen Van Anh (Song Cau Ward) said that storm No. 13 damaged three of his boats; one of them sank, and he retrieved the machinery to make use of it. He used a crane to take the two damaged boats for repair. Despite many difficulties, he is determined to go out to sea after completing the repairs.
According to Mr. Dao Quang Minh, Head of the Department of Fisheries and Sea Islands of Dak Lak province, after storm No. 13, some damaged boats were actively repaired by fishermen to put them back into operation, concentrated in the northeastern area of the province. For boats that were not damaged, fishermen went to sea as usual. Since the storm until now (November 7-11), 85 fishing boats of fishermen in the province have set sail. In addition, 23 boats of fishermen from other provinces anchored to avoid the storm at Phu Lac fishing port have also left the port to go fishing.
Faced with the damage to houses caused by storm No. 13, the authorities of communes and wards in the eastern region of Dak Lak province have urgently supported people to rebuild new houses and soon stabilize their lives.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Hoa (Xuan Canh commune) had her house collapsed and ruined by storm No. 13 and 4 aquaculture cages were swept away. In response to the loss of her residence and livelihood, Ms. Hoa was promptly supported by the leaders of Xuan Canh commune People's Committee with 60 million VND to rebuild a new house. Ms. Hoa said that immediately after receiving the support money, she bought construction materials and found workers to quickly rebuild the new house.

According to Mr. Phan Tran Van Huy, Secretary of the Party Committee of Xuan Canh Commune, storm No. 13 caused 40 houses in the area to completely collapse. Immediately after receiving financial support from the province, the locality promptly handed over to many households whose houses collapsed due to the storm (each household received 60 million VND) to rebuild new houses and stabilize their lives. With the heavy damage caused by the storm, the local government is focusing resources to help people overcome the consequences of the natural disaster.
Storm No. 13 also caused heavy damage in Song Cau and Xuan Dai wards; in Song Cau ward, 14 houses collapsed and 140 houses had their roofs blown off; Xuan Dai had 1 house collapsed and 28 houses had their roofs blown off.
Xuan Dai Ward Party Secretary Ho Hong Nam said that after the storm, the locality prioritized support for 29 households whose houses collapsed or had their roofs blown off so that they could soon stabilize their lives. Afterwards, the locality continued to support forces and means to help people repair boats to restore production.
According to the report of the Dak Lak Provincial Civil Defense Command, the whole province has 118 houses completely damaged and nearly 6,000 houses had their roofs blown off by storm No. 13. Currently, the authorities of the affected communes and wards are urgently supporting money and human resources for people to rebuild new houses and stabilize their housing.
