At the time of the fire, no one was present at the dealership and there were no reports of injuries.
The Rome Fire Department said it was looking into all possibilities to determine the cause of the fire, and did not rule out arson. Local police interviewed the dealership owner and reviewed surveillance camera footage.

The incident comes after a series of reports of Tesla vehicles being vandalized and graffitied across Italy in recent weeks, with many vehicles spray-painted with messages opposing Elon Musk and Donald Trump.
A week ago, another car dealership north of Rome caught fire, completely destroying 30 cars, including used Teslas. The cause was initially thought to be an electrical fault, but the investigation is ongoing.
In Rome, several Tesla cars were defaced in the Garbatella area, home of Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, according to police and social media posts.
Prime Minister Meloni and billionaire Musk are said to have a close relationship. Meanwhile, Tesla dealerships in Milan have also been targeted by environmental groups in recent weeks.
Tesla vandalism has occurred not only in Italy but also in France and many other areas in the US, including the Pacific Northwest and the Northeast.
Additionally, peaceful protests have taken place at many Tesla facilities in the US, with the slogan "Elon Musk must go", protesting the Department of Government Efficiency run by Musk, which has cut federal jobs.
