Beauty Queen Thanh Thuy: 'I was moved to hold the Vietnamese flag at the SEA Games'

At the SEA Games opening ceremony taking place at 7pm tonight, December 9, two names were chosen to carry the flag for the Vietnamese sports delegation: Le Minh Thuan (taekwondo) and Le Thanh Thuy (volleyball). Both are talented athletes, suitable for the criteria to take on the important task.

Before the opening ceremony, on the afternoon of December 9, Le Thanh Thuy took the opportunity to walk around Rajamangala Stadium to experience the special services that the host country brings.

Besides, she also gave a short interview to Tuoi Tre Online . Thanh Thuy shared: "I feel very proud and moved to be chosen as the flag bearer for the Vietnamese sports delegation. This is a very rare opportunity, and not everyone receives it.

When I learned that I was chosen to receive this sacred and noble mission, I was a bit surprised. However, I am also very happy to be able to contribute to the common good of the Vietnamese sports delegation."

Le Thanh Thuy is one of 14 athletes of the Vietnamese women's volleyball team participating in the 33rd SEA Games. She plays the position of middle blocker and is 1.8m tall. She previously participated in 2 SEA Games 2015 and 2017, winning 1 silver medal and 1 bronze medal.

There was a time when Le Thanh Thuy was "forgotten" in the national team. But thanks to her brilliant performance in the LPBank Ninh Binh club shirt, she was called back by coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet.

In 2025, Thanh Thuy will be an important athlete in the journey of the Vietnamese women's volleyball team to win the AVC Nations Cup, the second leg of the SEA V.League as well as other achievements such as being the VTV Cup runner-up, participating in the Women's Volleyball World Championship...

Thanks to her good looks, she was voted "Volleyball Queen" in several tournaments in the past.
