Since its inauguration (July 9, 2023 - July 9, 2025), Hoan Kiem Theater has been affirming its position as a prestigious cultural and artistic center, a place to honor Vietnamese cultural and artistic values, and at the same time a place to converge, crystallize, and spread the quintessence of world art.
The art programs at Ho Guom Theater are rich in genres, from musicals, ballets, symphonies to contemporary music live shows... with the participation of leading domestic and international artists, bringing diverse art experiences, meeting the needs of art enjoyment of the public of all classes and ages, aiming to create a close and lively musical life for the audience of the capital and people across the country.
The concert “The Light of Melody” is a program in a series of events celebrating the second anniversary of the theater’s inauguration and towards the 80th anniversary of the People’s Public Security Traditional Day; 20th anniversary of the National Day for National Security Protection. The program is organized by the Department of Political Work, Ministry of Public Security, under the direction of Ho Guom Theater.
The program brings together outstanding voices on the world opera stage such as: Marcello Alvarez, Kathryn Lewek, Joseph Calleja, along with Vietnamese artists: People's Artist Bui Cong Duy, Conductor Tran Nhat Minh, Hanoi Symphony Orchestra, Phuong Nam Choir and Gio Xanh Choir. "The Light of Melody" vividly recreates stories about opera art through famous works of the world's outstanding composers such as: Verdi, Puccini, Bellini, Giordano.
The show led the audience through many emotions: from the romantic, intense Italian style, or the vibrant and charming colors of Spanish music, or the majestic, magnificent, yet also delicate and romantic Russian music...
“The Light of Melody” is not only a deep gratitude for the tireless efforts of the artists and creative team, but also a spiritual gift to the audience - those who have been contributing to spreading the love of art.
In the shimmering light of the stage and the magical sound, the program is a special milestone closing the two-year journey of formation and development, and opening a new journey full of expectations for Ho Guom Theater - where art continues to flourish, spread, and touch the hearts of the public.
