The 220 kV Cai Lay - Cao Lanh high-voltage line affects the construction progress of Ba Huong bridge and the 500 kV Song Hau - Duc Hoa high-voltage line affects the construction progress of Danh Cuu bridge under the Cao Lanh - An Huu expressway project, component 2.
Specifically, due to the obstruction of the 500 kV Song Hau - Duc Hoa high-voltage power line, the contractor could not construct pile driving for pillars TS03, TS04, TS05 of Danh Cuu bridge; and at Ba Huong bridge, due to the obstruction of the 220 kV Cai Lay - Cao Lanh high-voltage power line, the contractor could not construct bored piles for pillars TS02, TS03, TS04, TS05, TS06, TS07 and TS08.
According to the assessment, the early completion of the renovation and relocation of these two high-voltage power lines will facilitate the Contractor Joint Venture to speed up the construction progress, aiming to open the entire route to traffic by April 30, 2026, and complete the entire project by the third quarter of 2026, putting the Cao Lanh - An Huu Expressway component 2 into use, connecting the Southern expressway network, serving the socio -economic development of the Mekong Delta region as committed to the Government.
Lieutenant Colonel Le Xuan Dai, Director of Truong Son 11 Executive Board, Corps 12, (Truong Son Construction Corporation), representative of the Consortium of Contractors of the Cao Lanh - An Huu Expressway Project, Component 2, said: With the timely support of the investor and leaders at all levels and sectors, as well as in order to make achievements to welcome the Dong Thap Provincial Party Congress for the 2025 - 2030 term towards the upcoming National Party Congress, the consortium of contractors has mobilized over 400 workers, engineers, hundreds of specialized technical equipment, urgently organized about 40 fierce construction teams regardless of day or night in the spirit of enthusiastic competition "overcoming the sun, overcoming the rain" and arranging scientific and reasonable construction "3 shifts, 4 teams" with the determination to speed up the progress of completing the entire project according to the committed contract.
On the other hand, the contractor consortium has currently exploited over 999,400 m³ of sand at 3 sand mines on Tien River, namely Tan Khanh Trung mine, Hoa Hung 1 mine and Hoa Hung 2 mine, according to the special mechanism approved by the Provincial People's Committee to serve the embankment and loading of the total sand demand of the entire project of 1,571,000 m³.
Thanks to that, as of early October 2025, construction contractors have completed a total construction and installation value of VND 1,243 billion, reaching 52.51% of the construction and installation value of the Cao Lanh - An Huu Expressway Project, Component 2.
According to records, many important works on the construction site are being carried out according to the schedule and plan. Specifically, contractors have basically completed the embankment and loading of sections of weak soil treated by PVD and loading the entire route; mobilized crushed stone aggregate to the construction site to proactively source necessary materials as well as use it as roadbed loading materials; basically completed the work of installing girders on the bridges on the route and are striving to complete all main structures of the bridges by December 31, 2025, except for locations that are still stuck on the ground and have not been able to be constructed yet...
Director of the Dong Thap Province Civil and Industrial Construction Investment Project Management Board Nguyen Thi Thanh Phuong said that the Cao Lanh - An Huu Expressway Component 2 project through Dong Thap province will be implemented in the period of 2022 - 2027, with a total length of 11.43 km, with a total investment of 3,856 billion VND, and officially started construction on August 12, 2024. The starting point intersects with Component 1 at Km16+000, the end point connects with Trung Luong - My Thuan Expressway at Km98+950, about 1.8 km from An Thai Trung intersection.
When completed, the project, connecting the Southern expressway system, will play an important role in removing traffic "bottlenecks", opening up the flow of investment capital for development in the region, helping to promote the potential of land, labor, and resources here in an effort to bring the Mekong Delta into a new era - the era of national development.
