
The statue cluster consists of 5 characters, showing the solidarity between the army and people of the two countries in the resistance war against the US, sharing the mission of opening the Truong Son - Ho Chi Minh trail, serving the transportation of weapons and food to support the South.
The statue cluster is 4.3m high; the height of the Vietnamese character is 2.3m, the Lao character is 2.3m; the width is 2.95m, the depth is 2.85m, the material is copper alloy; the total weight is about 11 tons.
Regarding the layout and content, above is the national flag symbol of Vietnam and Laos, symbolizing the spirit of solidarity and close attachment.
In the foreground is the image of Lao and Vietnamese soldiers standing shoulder to shoulder, fighting side by side, showing their enthusiasm and determination to fight and holding hands to celebrate victory on the Truong Son mountain range.
Behind are 3 characters, including a Laotian laborer transporting ammunition, a Vietnamese engineer opening the Truong Son road and a female Laotian guerrilla representing the women's force, carrying a gun on her shoulder, ready to fight, supporting the supply of food and ammunition to the battlefield.
The background scene below is a landscape of hills and mountains, symbolizing the majestic Truong Son range, and the Plain of Jars, commemorating the feats of arms of the Vietnamese and Laotian soldiers and people.


The Vietnam - Laos Solidarity and Friendship Statue Cluster is the gratitude and respect of the Vietnamese people for the contributions of the Lao people and People's Army, contributing to tightening and deepening the special, loyal and steadfast friendship between Vietnam and Laos.
Previously, implementing the policy of the Central Military Commission and the Ministry of National Defense , the symbolic area of solidarity, friendship and international gratitude was deployed at the outdoor exhibition space of the Vietnam Military History Museum from August 2025.
The project has a total area of about 3,600 square meters, including 5 groups of statues of the following countries: Soviet Union, Cuba, China, Laos and Cambodia.
Currently, the symbolic area has been accepted and displays statues of the Soviet Union, Cuba and Laos.
The remaining statue clusters and the entire symbolic area are expected to be completed in December 2025, towards the 81st anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam People's Army.
