The leased properties under the project “Developing tourism infrastructure to support inclusive growth in the Greater Mekong Subregion (Phase 2) - Quang Tri Province Sub-project” are being implemented with a total investment of over 258 billion VND, funded by a loan from the Asian Development Bank (ADB) and domestic counterpart funds.
Currently, the facilities at Trung Giang, Gio Hai, and Cua Viet community beaches and Cua Viet Tourist Port have been completed and are being partially exploited, moving towards comprehensive and complete operation. In particular, Cua Viet Tourist Port is scheduled to become operational in 2025, aiming to connect Cua Viet tourism with the Con Co Special Economic Zone, creating favorable conditions for businesses to operate tours and excursions in the Con Co Special Economic Zone.
The goal of investing in a comprehensive coastal tourism infrastructure system is to attract tourists; develop community-based tourism to create jobs for coastal residents, increase income, reduce poverty, and ensure social security.

According to Nguyen Van Hong, Chairman of the Ben Hai Commune People's Committee, on May 19, 2026, Ben Hai commune announced the auction and lease of all permitted land plots and will proceed with handing over the land to individuals and businesses for exploitation during this year's beach tourism season.
Accordingly, the local authorities will soon put 13 stalls, each with an area of 250m2, into operation at Trung Giang community beach, assigning personnel to manage the assets, preventing waste of public assets, generating revenue for the State, beautifying the landscape, and attracting services and creating jobs for local people.
Over the past period, Ben Hai commune has encouraged businesses at Trung Giang community beach to actively upgrade hotels and restaurants, and prepare the necessary conditions to serve tourists. They have also organized beach cleaning and surface improvement; and upgraded the lighting system on the roads...
In Cua Viet commune, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee Nguyen Xuan Phuong said that immediately after receiving the provincial People's Committee's approval of the project, Cua Viet commune promptly implemented specific tasks and plans to conduct the auction and lease of all permitted land on May 25, 2026. The solidly and comprehensively invested facilities are expected to improve the quality of services and experiences for tourists.
Cua Viet commune has also directed relevant units and localities to coordinate efforts to clean up the beach and beautify the landscape to welcome the beach tourism season; to promote and introduce the tourism potential and advantages of Cua Viet, contributing to the development of tourism, services, and trade, leaving a deep impression on the people and tourists.
Chairman of the People's Committee of Cua Tung Commune, Vo Duc Dien, shared that the commune has officially launched the 2026 beach tourism season. The locality recognizes that tourism is not only about economic development but also about building image, brand, and reputation. To create a positive impression on local people and tourists from all over the country, the commune regularly requires businesses to publicly display prices, preventing price gouging; and simultaneously strengthens inspections and enforcement to build a safe and friendly tourism environment. Currently, the commune is gradually improving its tourism infrastructure and services. Accommodation facilities, restaurants, and food services are being invested in to be spacious, clean, and beautiful, meeting the increasingly high demands of tourists.
With proactive efforts to renovate and improve infrastructure and enhance the appearance of beaches before the beach tourism season, many beaches in the southern Quang Tri area promise to be attractive destinations for tourists in the summer of 2026.
