In the process of judicial reform and the building of a rule of law state in Vietnam, forensic expertise plays a crucial role in ensuring the objectivity and accuracy of litigation. Although the legal system regarding forensic expertise is gradually being perfected, practical implementation still raises many requirements for further research, amendment, and supplementation. In the context of international integration, drawing on the experiences of other countries around the world is of practical significance in improving the effectiveness of lawmaking and enforcement in this field.
The workshop was organized into three thematic sessions: “Forensic examination - Practical experience in Vietnam”; “The role and use of forensic examination conclusions in resolving criminal cases”; and “Experiences in forensic examination from the Russian Federation and some countries around the world”.
The workshop was organized to create an academic and practical forum for managers, experts, scientists , lecturers, and lawyers from Vietnam and abroad to exchange and discuss theoretical and practical issues related to forensic expertise; share international experiences, propose solutions to improve Vietnamese law; and strengthen cooperation in research, training, and networking between training and research institutions and legal practice organizations domestically and internationally.
The workshop is expected to contribute theoretical and practical foundations, along with policy recommendations, to improve the legal framework for forensic expertise in Vietnam, while also promoting international cooperation in legal research and training.
