The Hue Monuments Conservation Center, Hue City, said on the morning of November 4 that tourist attractions in the Hue Monuments Complex reopened to serve residents and tourists, while continuing to carry out work to overcome the consequences of the flood from November 2-3.
After a period of focusing on overcoming the consequences of the flood, the Hue Monuments Conservation Center has completed cleaning and repair work and prepared conditions to welcome visitors back.
Immediately after reopening, Hue Imperial City welcomed the first group of visitors from Malaysia. This is a good sign for the journey to welcome international visitors back after the flood. Next, many international groups from England, France... also visited Hue Imperial City.
According to the Hue Monuments Conservation Center, the flood from November 2-3 collapsed a section of the Imperial Citadel wall in the Hue Citadel on Dang Thai Than Street; the collapsed section of wall is about 15 meters long, about 50 meters from Hoa Binh Gate.
Immediately after the incident, the unit barricaded and set up warning signs in the area to ensure safety for residents and tourists.
In addition, due to being soaked in water for a long time, Bat Trang brick floors in some areas of walkways, courtyards in the Imperial Citadel and mausoleums show signs of peeling and damage; the embankment system of Ngoai Kim Thuy lake continues to be eroded and is at high risk of subsidence, affecting the structure and landscape of the area.
By the morning of November 4, the flood on the Huong River and the Bo River continued to decrease and was nearly 0.6m below alert level 3. Floodwaters have receded on many roads and residential areas in Hue, facilitating the work of overcoming the consequences of the flood./.
