(QNO) - The Ministry of Education and Training has just sent a telegram to the Departmentsof Education and Training on ensuring safety for staff, teachers, students and responding to heat waves at educational institutions.
According to the telegram, educational institutions nationwide are currently preparing to complete the 2022-2023 school year; 9th and 12th graders are focusing on reviewing for the 10th grade entrance exam and high school graduation exam.
To ensure the safety of staff, teachers and students, the Ministry of Education and Training requires the Departments of Education and Training of provinces and centrally-run cities to direct educational institutions to proactively adjust school education plans, arrange reasonable timetables, and allocate early morning time slots to organize teaching of subjects and outdoor educational activities. Schools must not arrange for students to participate in educational activities and extracurricular activities during periods of intense heat.
In addition, schools need to review, supplement, and replace broken electrical equipment such as electric fans, air conditioners, and ventilation fans; increase classroom shielding; open windows to ensure ventilation; and increase drinking water for staff, teachers, and students.
Units coordinate with the electricity sector to provide adequate and timely power supply to schools, especially kindergartens and primary schools with boarding and semi-boarding students; coordinate with the health sector to organize propaganda and educate students on health care.
