
The Vietnamese student team participating in IJSO-2025 consists of 6 members, all of whom are students of Hanoi -Amsterdam High School for the Gifted. They are: Hoang Khoi Nguyen (grade 10 Physics 1), Nguyen Dong Quan (grade 10 Chemistry 1), Do Manh Hung (grade 10 Math 1), Tran Ngoc Hung (grade 10 Math 1), Trinh Nguyen Hung (grade 10 Physics 2) and Do Bao Trang (grade 10 Physics 1).
As a result, the Vietnamese student delegation was honored with high achievements: 3 Silver Medals went to Tran Ngoc Hung, Hoang Khoi Nguyen, Do Bao Trang; 3 Bronze Medals went to Do Manh Hung, Trinh Nguyen Hung, Nguyen Dong Quan.
The competition consists of three rounds (multiple choice, theory and practical). In the multiple choice round, candidates answer 30 questions (10 questions each from physics, chemistry and biology). In the theory round, candidates must take knowledge tests from all three subjects. For the practical (experimental) round, candidates must carry out a research project that requires comprehensive knowledge of physics, chemistry and biology.
Participating countries send up to 6 students and teachers in charge. This is one of the important international science competitions for teenagers, contributing to promoting cultural and academic exchanges, discovering and nurturing young scientific talents around the world.

In addition, within the framework of the Competition, cultural, educational and sports programs took place. Students learned about Russian traditions, visited the Sirius Concert Hall, sports facilities of the XXII Winter Olympics in 2014 and interacted with young scientists.
The International Junior Science Olympiad is an annual competition held since 2004 for students aged 15 and under. The competition aims to encourage students to be passionate and love natural sciences.

Before the exam, the Vietnamese student team participating in IJSO-2025 visited the Vietnamese Embassy in the Russian Federation to offer incense to Uncle Ho at his shrine in the Embassy's premises. Vietnamese Ambassador to the Russian Federation Dang Minh Khoi wished the students good results and presented gifts to the delegation.
According to the Hanoi Department of Education and Training, in the past 5 years (2019-2024), 100% of the Hanoi student team members won medals: in 2019, they won 3 Gold Medals and 3 Silver Medals; in 2021, they won 4 Gold Medals and 2 Silver Medals; in 2023, they won 1 Silver Medal and 5 Bronze Medals; and in 2024, they won 5 Silver Medals and 1 Bronze Medal.
