According to information from the organizing committee, on August 3-5, the Vietnamese team competed in the AIMO 2025 international final at Tokyo University of Foreign Studies, Japan with more than 3,500 contestants from 21 countries and territories. After days of intense competition, the team achieved outstanding results, including: 1 Championship, 10 Gold Medals, 7 Silver Medals, 4 Bronze Medals.
The winner of the AIMO 2025 Championship is Phan Thanh Huy, grade 12, Hanoi - Amsterdam High School for the Gifted (Hanoi).
"After the competition, I didn't think I would win a high prize. The results I achieved surprised me. I am very honored and proud to have contributed to putting Vietnam on the world map," Thanh Huy shared during an exchange on the afternoon of August 6 at Tien Phong Newspaper.

Thanh Huy said he entered the AIMO 2025 exam with a fairly relaxed mindset because he had participated in many previous math competitions. The biggest difference this time was that he was representing Vietnamese students, which made Huy feel much more responsible and pressured.
Sharing his learning method, Thanh Huy emphasized that the only way to be good at a subject, especially Math, is to put in a lot of effort and dedication. The male student believes that anyone can improve and study well if they try.

According to Mr. Bui Van Phuong, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Tien Phong Joint Stock Company, Head of the AIMO Vietnam 2025 Delegation, despite the short preparation time of only 2 months, the organizing committee was able to organize the national competition, selecting 22 students from 2,500 candidates to participate in the international final round.
"This year, the Vietnamese team had the fewest contestants but 100% won prizes. This is an unprecedented achievement for the Vietnamese team participating in AIMO," said Mr. Phuong, emphasizing that AIMO is not only a Math competition but also a journey of learning and integration, where students are trained in thinking, international academic language, teamwork skills and the ability to adapt in a multicultural environment.
AIMO 2025 was first organized in 2012 by the Asian Mathematical Olympiad Committee, with the participation of more than 20 countries and territories. This is an academic playground that not only helps students test their math skills in English but also trains logical thinking, critical thinking skills and global integration ability.
Vietnam joined AIMO in 2019 and quickly affirmed its position with more than 200 international medals.
