Coming to Hoi An to "celebrate Tet", an Indian female tourist who has traveled to many Southeast Asian countries felt that Hoi An was crowded but "the most beautiful".
Sunita, an Indian tourist, and her husband came to Vietnam for the first time during the Lunar New Year and chose Hoi An to experience the culture and cuisine . "Hoi An is truly a very beautiful city, perhaps the most beautiful of the places we have ever been to," Sunita said, adding that she and her husband stayed in Hoi An for three days during Tet, feeling the uniqueness and excitement of the New Year festival in Vietnam.

Sunita and her husband spent time exploring the culture in the old town, visiting famous temples and pagodas here. They also wanted to visit museums and souvenir shops, but Sanita shared her regret that many places were closed during Tet. In return, she enjoyed the crowded scene during Tet.
For her, Hoi An is crowded, but this is "wonderful" because it is like the big festivals in India, just as crowded. "I like this hustle and bustle because I get to meet a lot of people, the atmosphere is very happy, the lanterns are bright everywhere, it's very beautiful," she added.

As a travel enthusiast, Sunita has been to many Southeast Asian countries. Vietnam is a "very lovely" country and recommends everyone to visit it at least once. Sunita finds that Vietnam and India have a "valuable" common point in that people value family very much, so she shares that she will definitely return to Vietnam with her family and plans to take her children on a trip to the North.
Hoi An is constantly crowded during the Tet holiday. Minh Thu, an employee of a hotel in the old town, said that the number of guests during Tet is "so crowded, we can't keep up with the demand". Hotel room rates this year have increased by about 30% compared to before the pandemic. Some hotels do not charge extra for Tet, instead they sell food combos and day tours to attract tourists.

According to the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Quang Nam province, from February 8 to 14 (ie 29th to 5th of Tet), the total number of visitors and tourists staying in the province (mainly Hoi An) reached 305,000, an increase of 35% over the same period in 2023, of which international visitors increased by 42% and 31%. The number of visitors alone reached 260,000, an increase of 33% over the same period.
Hoi An has recently been continuously chosen as a typical destination in the world as a dream honeymoon spot, a suitable place for shopping, sightseeing and sunbathing.
