For the fifth consecutive year, Hoi An has been named Asia's leading cultural city destination.

At the World Travel Awards 2025 ceremony held in Bahrain on the evening of December 6th, Hoi An was honored as Asia's leading cultural city destination.

Accordingly, Hoi An outstandingly surpassed six other nominated cities in the Asian region to be honored in this category for the fifth consecutive year. Hoi An is recognized by UNESCO as a World Cultural Heritage site and has been a leading cultural tourism destination in the region for many years. In recent years, Hoi An has welcomed an average of about 5 million international visitors annually.

This year, Vietnam's tourism industry was also honored in many other important categories, such as: Vietnam as the world's leading heritage destination and the world's leading natural island destination; Moc Chau as the world's leading regional nature destination; Tam Dao as the world's leading town destination; and Dong Van Karst Plateau (Tuyen Quang) as the world's leading cultural destination... The World Travel Awards, established in 1993, is a prestigious award recognized worldwide and is considered the "Oscars of the tourism industry".
