Hoi An in top 25 most favorite cities in the world

Hoi An was ranked 4th in the list of 25 most favorite cities in the world from the World's Best Awards 2024 by leading travel magazine Travel+Leisure.

Every year, in the World's Best Awards survey, Travel+Leisure asks readers to rate their travel experiences around the world in the top hotels, resorts, cities, islands, cruise ships, spas, airlines, and more.

More than 186,000 readers of the magazine completed the 2024 survey. In total, there were more than 700,000 reviews for more than 8,700 establishments (hotels, cities, cruise lines...).

Cities are specifically rated according to criteria of attractions/landmarks, culture, cuisine , friendliness, shopping, value.

For each characteristic, respondents can choose to rate it as excellent, good, average, below average, or poor. The final score is the average of these responses.

Named 4th in the category of 25 most favorite cities in the world and 3rd in the category of 25 most favorite cities in Asia with a total score of 90.67 from readers, Travel+Leisure said it is no surprise that Hoi An is highly appreciated by readers.

This coastal city is a foodie's paradise, with banh mi and cao lau being top favourites.

According to Travel+Leisure, this is also a destination for those who love history and ancient architecture with impressive style. Recognized by UNESCO as a World Cultural Heritage, Hoi An is considered one of the busiest and most prosperous trading ports from the previous centuries.

Hoi An Ancient Town is also famous for its unique Japanese Covered Bridge and ancient temples, pagodas and shrines such as Ong Hoi An Pagoda, Ong Dia Temple, Son Pho Communal House, Ngu Hanh Hy Hoa Temple... along with souvenir shops, tailor shops, restaurants serving typical local cuisine.
