Quang Tri Ancient Citadel Soldiers Association in 1972 held the 2nd Congress

On December 16, in Ninh Binh city, the Quang Tri Ancient Citadel Soldiers Association of 1972 held its 2nd Congress of Delegates for the 2023-2028 term.

Attending the ceremony were Major General Nguyen Xuan Sang, Hero of the People's Armed Forces, Hero of Labor in the renovation period, Chairman of the Quang Tri Ancient Citadel Soldiers Association in 1972; Colonel Dinh Cong Thanh, Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Commander of the Provincial Military Command; a number of generals working in the military and police; leaders and representatives of a number of departments, branches, sectors, unions, units, and enterprises in the province...

Over 200 delegates representing more than 1,000 members of the Quang Tri Ancient Citadel Warriors Association in 1972 attended the Congress.

During the last term, the Executive Committee of the Quang Tri Ancient Citadel Soldiers Association in 1972 of the province has actively built the association; propagated and mobilized to develop members. Up to now, there are 1,060 members operating at 10 communes, wards and units. Regularly paying attention to training, raising awareness and ideological stance for members through activities.

Members of the Quang Tri Ancient Citadel Soldiers Association in 1972 were exemplary in implementing the policies and laws of the Party and the State; actively participating in implementing local movements such as building new rural areas and civilized urban areas, building strong association bases. Maintaining the qualities of "Uncle Ho's soldiers", many members are old but continue to contribute their strength and intelligence to local activities. Currently, 30% of members participate in local positions such as: head of residential group, Party cell secretary, etc.

Along with that, the Association actively helps each other develop the economy; carry out charity activities. Over the past 5 years, the Association has called for support and contributions to support the construction of 5 "Warm Comradeship" charity houses; presented gifts of gratitude to martyrs' families with a total amount of 85 million VND. Many members spared no effort and money to join the families of martyrs' relatives in the Quang Tri battlefield to visit, identify the identities and locations of their comrades' burial places to organize transportation to local cemeteries for 56 cases...

In the 2023-2028 term, the Association sets the goal of continuing to build and consolidate the organizational structure and enhance the role of the Association at all levels. Promote the spirit of "Solidarity, discipline, loyalty, efficiency", contributing to building the homeland and country; build the image of exemplary soldiers of Quang Tri Citadel, a shining example for the younger generation to follow.

The Association proposes key solutions for implementation: Doing well the work of propaganda and political and ideological education for members. Uniting, maintaining and promoting the nature of "Uncle Ho's soldiers" and the soldiers of Quang Tri Citadel. Actively mobilizing, developing and helping members; further innovating the Association's operating methods. Actively coordinating with agencies, organizations, the Fatherland Front, local Party committees and authorities to participate in building new rural areas, civilized urban areas, building and protecting the Party, protecting the government, protecting the socialist regime, contributing to socio-economic development, ensuring national defense and security...

With the spirit of democracy and solidarity, the Congress elected the Executive Committee of the Quang Tri Ancient Citadel Soldiers Association in 1972, term II, 2023 - 2028, consisting of 15 comrades.

At the Congress, Xuan Thanh Group presented and congratulated the Quang Tri Ancient Citadel Soldiers Association of 1972 with 100 million VND. The Quang Tri Ancient Citadel Soldiers Association of 1972 presented 10 gifts to relatives of families of martyrs who sacrificed their lives in Quang Tri.

On this occasion, many collectives and individuals of the Association were awarded Certificates of Merit by the Quang Tri Ancient Citadel Soldiers Association in 1972 and the Provincial People's Committee for their outstanding achievements in building and developing the Association for the 2018-2023 term.
