The fair not only contributes to strengthening economic cooperation between Vietnam and China, but also expands trading space for domestic, international and ASEAN enterprises, affirming Lao Cai's position as a regional trade connection center.
Prepare systematically, scientifically , and ensure progress.
Since mid-2025, the Lao Cai Department of Finance has proactively advised the Provincial People's Committee to issue a master plan for organizing the fair. On that basis, the Department of Finance will preside over and coordinate with relevant departments, branches and the Organizing Committee of the Vietnam - China International Trade Fair (Lao Cai) to deploy all preparation work in a methodical, professional and timely manner.

Preparations were carried out synchronously, from booth arrangement, stage setting for the opening ceremony, to reception of delegates, trade promotion activities and organization of side conferences. In particular, the exchange process with the Chinese Fair Organizing Committee was conducted regularly and effectively, helping the two sides to agree on the list of goods, the list of delegates and the overall coordination plan.
The fair organizers also organized many trade promotion programs in Ho Chi Minh City, Yunnan and Zhejiang provinces to connect Vietnamese enterprises with the Chinese market. This activity helps enterprises directly access the distribution system and major importers, while contributing to promoting the fair's image to international partners.

The printing of banners, billboards, leaflets and communications is widely deployed on central and local media. Regarding facilities, the system of standard booths, special booths and opening stages are strictly supervised, ensuring the right progress and ready to hand over to businesses. In addition, the Department of Finance coordinates with Customs to inspect goods participating in the fair, ensuring safety, legality and creating maximum convenience for businesses.
Mr. Do Xuan Thuy - Deputy Director of the Department of Finance emphasized: "Our goal is to organize a professional and effective fair, creating the best conditions for businesses to promote products, sign cooperation agreements and expand markets. All preparation steps are carried out scientifically and ensure progress".
Many new highlights, raising the scale of the fair
The 25th Vietnam - China International Trade Fair (Lao Cai) is considered the fair with the most drastic innovations in nearly three decades of organization, marking a change in quality, operation method and exhibition scale.

One of the important new points is the separation of the Investment Promotion Conference and the Trade Promotion Conference. instead of organizing a combination like previous conferences. This helps each conference to be more professional, ensuring the right promotion goals for each field, while creating conditions for businesses to access information fully and effectively.

For the first time, the fair organized the Mega Live Program with two modern stages, applying projection technology and e-commerce. Here, businesses can introduce products, livestream sales, connect cross-border trade, and reach Chinese and regional consumers through online platforms.

The fair also made its mark with 03 thematic exhibition areas, including: Vietnam - ASEAN - Southwest China Trade Connection Center; Lao Cai - Yunnan Exhibition Area: Connection and Development; High-class standard booth area with high-connecting panel design and professional identification system. Notably, 2025 is the first fair after the province's merger. From the Chinese side, the coordinating agency has also been upgraded from the district level to the prefecture level, affirming the importance of the event for both sides.
The fair is organized in conjunction with the Red River Festival, expected to attract many central and local delegates and international visitors, contributing to increasing the spread of the event and widely promoting the image of Lao Cai province.
Boosting trade - Many memorandums of understanding will be signed
This year’s fair focuses on introducing key Vietnamese products such as coffee, bird’s nest, fresh fruit, processed agricultural products, herbs and regional specialties. The Organizing Committee promotes trade connections between Vietnamese and Chinese businesses through seminars, direct connections (B2B) and cooperation signing.

To date, 20 Vietnamese and Chinese business pairs have signed memoranda of understanding, promising to open up many trade and investment agreements in the coming time. This is an encouraging number, demonstrating great potential for cooperation in the fields of agricultural products, consumer goods, processing industry and logistics.

Mr. Vu Minh - Chairman of the Board of Directors of Minh Khai Import-Export Trading Joint Stock Company said: "The fair is not only a place to display products but also a forum to connect directly with Chinese investors and partners. Therefore, the unit registered to participate in the fair with 12 booths to introduce agricultural products such as cassava, coffee, cinnamon, herbs, etc. We expect to find new import partners, expand the market and enhance the brand.

Mr. Nguyen Huy Long - Chairman of Lao Cai Province Business Association said that the fair is not only an annual trade activity but also an important platform to help businesses expand their business space, connect markets and improve competitiveness.

According to Mr. Long, in the context of a rapidly changing economy, the opportunity for businesses to approach customers, partners and new consumer trends is extremely valuable. Through the activities of the fair, businesses can introduce their products and services in a visual and vivid way, thereby increasing brand awareness.
This is also an opportunity for businesses inside and outside the province to meet, seek partners, establish business cooperation relationships, expand distribution networks and receive potential investment opportunities. Many small and medium enterprises see this as a "springboard" to enter larger markets, thanks to the ability to contact retail chains, suppliers and business support organizations.

Businesses participating in the fair all appreciated the support of the Department of Finance and the Organizing Committee, from booth registration, product confirmation, to logistics and booth preparation instructions. This contributed to creating a favorable environment, helping businesses feel secure in participating and maximizing opportunities at the fair.

With its increasingly enhanced scale and increasingly professional organization quality, the Vietnam - China International Trade Fair continues to affirm Lao Cai's position as a trade gateway between Vietnam, ASEAN and the Southwest region of China , making an important contribution to the development of border economy and strengthening the traditional friendship between Vietnam and China.
