The Ho Chi Minh City Association of Former Police Officers plays a vital role in maintaining security and order at the grassroots level.

On February 8th, the Association of Former People's Police Officers of Ho Chi Minh City held a gathering to celebrate the Lunar New Year 2026 (Year of the Horse), review activities, and plan future tasks.

Members of the Vietnam Association of Former Public Security Officers, the Ho Chi Minh City Association of Former Public Security Officers, and the professional departments of the City Police Department at the meeting.

According to the Ho Chi Minh City Association of Former Public Security Officers, in recent times, the Association has continued to closely follow the local political tasks, mobilizing members to participate in the nationwide movement to protect national security, coordinating with functional forces to maintain security and order in residential areas, participating in legal education, mediating conflicts, and contributing to stabilizing the security situation at the grassroots level.

In addition, the Association focuses on caring for the material and spiritual well-being of its members; organizing activities to visit and support members in difficult circumstances; and encouraging members to utilize their experience, participate in labor and production, and contribute to the socio-economic development of the locality.

Representatives from Department PX01 of the Ho Chi Minh City Police presented gifts from the City Police Directorate to the Ho Chi Minh City Association of Former Police Officers.

Speaking at the gathering, Major General Dao Cong Danh, Chairman of the Association of Former Public Security Officers of Ho Chi Minh City, said that the former public security officers, with their practical experience and prestige at the grassroots level, continue to be the core force in mobilizing the masses, participating in maintaining security and order, and building safe residential areas.

Colonel Le Tan Buu, Head of the Economic and Financial Committee of the Ho Chi Minh City Association of Former Public Security Officers, affirmed that in the coming time, the Ho Chi Minh City Association of Former Public Security Officers will continue to innovate the content and methods of its activities; strengthen the gathering and solidarity of its members; promote the prestige and experience of the former public security force in ensuring security and order, participating in socio-economic development, and contributing to building a civilized, modern, and compassionate Ho Chi Minh City.

Leaders of the Ho Chi Minh City Association of Former Police Officers presented commemorative plaques to express gratitude to the businesses that have partnered with them.

The gathering was an opportunity for generations of police officers and soldiers to reminisce about traditions, strengthen bonds, and continue contributing to ensuring security and order in the city.
