Leaders of the two sides signed a memorandum of understanding at the talks.

Attending the talks, on the Vietnamese side were: Colonel Dang Ngoc Hieu, Party Secretary, Political Commissar of the Hue City Border Guard Command; Colonel Phan Van Thi, Deputy Commander, Chief of Staff of the Da Nang City Border Guard Command; Colonel Tran Ngoc Tung, Deputy Commander, Chief of Staff of the Quang Ngai Province Border Guard Command. On the side of the Sekong Province Military Command, Laos, there was Colonel Som Chit Ni La Phon, Political Commissar.

At the talks, the parties highly appreciated the results of comprehensive cooperation in the period from November 2024 to present, on the basis of seriously implementing the minutes of the 2024 talks. The Border Guard Commands of the three provinces and cities of Vietnam and the Military Command of Sekong province have closely coordinated in border management and protection, maintaining the status quo of the border line and the system of national border markers, maintaining political security and social order and safety on both sides of the border.

The two sides have maintained the agreements on the Vietnam-Laos border area regulations, creating favorable conditions for socio -economic development, strengthening the special solidarity and friendship between the governments, armed forces and people of the two countries. In particular, the two sides' forces have regularly exchanged information; organized 1 provincial-level bilateral patrol with 24 officers and soldiers; 49 station-company level patrols with 1,080 officers and soldiers participating.

The units continued to maintain the twinning regulations between border posts - border companies and the twinning of villages - hamlets on both sides of the border; organized many exchange and support activities, contributing to strengthening the special friendship between Vietnam and Laos. The Border Guard Command of the 3 provinces and cities organized support for the people and armed forces of Sekong province with a total value of nearly 3 billion VND; maintained the program "Helping children go to school" for 15 students.

In the coming time, the units agreed to continue strictly implementing agreements and legal documents on the Vietnam-Laos border; enhancing information exchange, coordinating border management and protection, fighting and preventing crimes; stepping up propaganda and mobilizing people on both sides to comply with border regulations, creating conditions for the exchange of goods.

The two sides also agreed to maintain regular and ad hoc talks; promote the effectiveness of the twinning model of posts - companies and villages - hamlets; coordinate to promptly handle incidents arising on the border in accordance with the agreement, maintain political stability and social order and safety.
