Recently, the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee issued a document providing information on the plan to organize the 46th Ho Chi Minh City Spring Flower Festival and the Tet Flower Market in 2026 (Year of the Horse).

According to the plan, the spring flower festival aims to introduce and promote to the people of Ho Chi Minh City and tourists a space for admiring flowers, ornamental plants, and unique works of art related to horticulture. It is also an opportunity to display, exhibit, and compete in the art of flowers, ornamental fish, bonsai, miniature landscapes, and other related arts, combined with folk performing arts such as traditional martial arts, lion and dragon dances, and traditional music.

The Ho Chi Minh City Spring Flower Festival for the Year of the Horse (2016) opened on the evening of the 23rd day of the 12th lunar month.

In addition, the spring flower festival also introduces and promotes urban agricultural models and flower and ornamental plant cultivation models linked to tourism in Ho Chi Minh City to domestic and international tourists.

This year's Ho Chi Minh City Spring Flower Festival, themed "Spring Gathering - Steadfastly Moving Forward," is organized by the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee; the Department of Culture and Sports , the Department of Construction, the Ho Chi Minh City Green Parks Company Limited, and other related units are coordinating the implementation.

According to the plan, the spring flower festival will take place over 12 days, from February 10th to February 21st, 2026 (i.e., from the 23rd day of the 12th lunar month to the 5th day of the 1st lunar month), at Tao Dan Park (Ben Thanh Ward).

The highlight of the program is a rich series of cultural and entertainment activities, including lion and dragon dances, traditional martial arts; folk theater forms such as puppetry and traditional music; folk games, circus acts, magic shows; an art playground for children and teenagers; Vietnamese calligraphy demonstrations, tea ceremonies, and culinary culture; outdoor film screenings and daily themed music programs.

In addition, the organizers have also arranged a space for handicrafts combined with the introduction of Southern Vietnamese folk cuisine, contributing to honoring traditional values ​​and promoting Vietnamese cultural identity to locals and tourists.

In terms of decorative elements, the Truong Dinh gate area will feature large-scale scenes such as "The Noon Festival Welcoming Spring," the "Returning Home in Glory" axis, the "Shadows of Doves in the Mountains and Rivers" axis, and the "Yellow Apricot Blossoms Presenting the King" axis. The Nguyen Thi Minh Khai gate area will be decorated with a "Ten Thousand Horses Welcoming Spring" gate and a "Giant Flower" garden, while the Cach Mang Thang 8 gate will feature a "Harmonious Spring Song" gate.

Besides the exhibition areas, the spring flower festival also features a food court, outdoor movie screenings, and mapping performances for locals and tourists.

According to the plan, the opening ceremony of the Ho Chi Minh City Spring Flower Festival 2026 will take place at 6:30 PM on February 10th (the 23rd day of the 12th lunar month), two days earlier than last year.

Where will the Lunar New Year flower market for the Year of the Horse (Bính Ngọ) be held?

According to the plan, the Lunar New Year flower market for the Year of the Horse will be held at the following locations: 23 September Park (Area A, Area B); Gia Dinh Park (Areas A, B and Area C) and Le Van Tam Park, under the management of the Green Parks Company Limited.

Ba Ria - Vung Tau area: organized at Ly Thuong Kiet - Pham Ngu Lao - Le Lai - Thong Nhat park (opposite the Vung Tau Ward Military Command) by the Vung Tau Ward People's Committee.

The "On the Wharf, Under the Boat" spring flower market is jointly organized by the People's Committee of Phu Dinh Ward and the Department of Culture and Sports.

The Binh Dien Tet Flower Market is organized and managed by Saigon Trading Corporation Limited.

The Phu My Hung Flower Market and Flower Street are organized and implemented by Phu My Hung Development Co., Ltd.

The Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee requires that organizing units publicly disclose the prices of stalls in the Tet flower market, absolutely preventing the resale of stalls for profit, which would lead to revenue losses for the state and harm to the people.

Parking arrangement: Based on the layout plan of the flower market stalls, the unit assigned to manage the area is responsible for arranging parking to ensure it meets the needs of local residents and tourists visiting the flower market.

For Tet flower markets at the commune, ward, and special zone levels, the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee requires that they not take place before February 10, 2026, and must end before 12:30 PM on February 16, 2026. After that, they must be cleaned up and the area restored to its original condition.
