On the morning of June 5, the Gia Vien District Women's Union coordinated with Gia Tran Commune to organize a campaign to respond to World Environment Day (June 5).
In recent years, Women's Unions at all levels in the district have proactively and actively coordinated with all levels, sectors and localities to organize many diverse and extensive activities to mobilize members and women to proactively and actively participate in environmental protection.
Many movements, models, and good and creative practices in localities have been maintained and expanded, actively contributing to creating changes in the awareness and actions of cadres, women's union members and the community in environmental protection, such as: The 5 no 3 clean movement, building the "Clean house, beautiful road" association, the "5 yes, 3 clean" association, the "Anti-plastic waste" movement, women's tree and flower roads, women's self-managed roads, good implementation of waste classification from households, the "Green Saturday, Clean Sunday" model, etc.
With the theme "Land restoration, drought and desertification prevention", in 2024, the Gia Vien District Women's Union calls on agencies, units, businesses, members, women and people to actively protect the environment with practical actions such as: Classifying, collecting and treating waste properly, actively recycling plastic items, treating organic waste with microorganisms, creating natural fertilizer sources to contribute to improving the quality and restoring the soil and reducing soil pollution; using water resources economically and effectively, using measures to protect water sources in production and daily life; actively planting trees, planting tree paths, women's flower paths; continuing to maintain and build environmental protection models...
After the launching ceremony, cadres, women's union members and a large number of people in Gia Tran commune cleaned up the village roads and alleys; trimmed women's flower paths. At the same time, they promoted propaganda about clean water and environmental sanitation so that union members, women and people could raise awareness and effectively implement environmental protection work. Thereby contributing to preserving and protecting the living environment and community health.
