A meeting was held at the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism to gather opinions from voters regarding the nominees for the 16th National Assembly election.

On the morning of January 16th, in Hanoi, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism held a conference to gather opinions from voters within the Ministry regarding the nominees for the 16th National Assembly. Member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, Secretary of the Party Committee, and Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Nguyen Van Hung chaired the conference.

Attending the Conference were Ms. Lam Thi Phuong Thanh, Member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, and Permanent Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism; and the Standing Committee members and Deputy Ministers of Culture, Sports and Tourism: Ms. Trinh Thi Thuy, Mr. Hoang Dao Cuong, and Mr. Ho An Phong.

Also attending the Conference were representatives from the Central Internal Affairs Committee , the Central Party Office, the Central Organization Committee, and representatives from agencies and units under the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.

The conference discussed and unanimously agreed to nominate Ms. Lam Thi Phuong Thanh, Member of the Central Committee of the Party, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, and Standing Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism, as a candidate for the 16th National Assembly .

The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism organized a conference at the Ministry to gather opinions from voters regarding the nominees for election to the 16th National Assembly.

Speaking at the conference, Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Nguyen Van Hung stated that the 15th National Assembly's term is nearing its end. At the 10th session – the final session of the 15th National Assembly – the National Assembly discussed and decided on many important issues. The National Assembly unanimously agreed to establish the National Election Council, determined the procedures for conducting the elections, and set the election date for the 16th National Assembly and People's Councils at all levels for the 2026-2030 term.

In accordance with central government regulations, and based on the Law on Election of National Assembly Deputies and People's Council Deputies and guiding documents, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism organized a conference to introduce its personnel to run for election as National Assembly deputies.

Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Nguyen Van Hung delivered a speech at the conference.

Accordingly, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism held the following conferences: a Standing Committee meeting to nominate candidates from the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism for the 16th National Assembly; a meeting to gather opinions from voters at the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism regarding the nominated candidates for the 16th National Assembly; and an expanded leadership meeting of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism to nominate candidates for the 16th National Assembly.

At the Standing Committee meeting on nominating candidates from the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism for the 16th National Assembly, 100% of the opinions unanimously agreed to nominate Comrade Lam Thi Phuong Thanh to run for the 16th National Assembly, to be presented to the meeting for feedback from voters in her workplace.

Minister Nguyen Van Hung also emphasized the standards for National Assembly deputies according to the Law on the Organization of the National Assembly and remarked that Comrade Lam Thi Phuong Thanh is an official who has risen through the ranks of the Youth Union, having been trained through many important positions at the central and local levels. Throughout her career, she has consistently been recognized as a capable, courageous, and dedicated female official with many innovative ideas and significant contributions to her work.

In various capacities, from working with the Youth Union and the Central Propaganda Department (now the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department), to serving as Secretary of the Lang Son Provincial Party Committee and at the Central Party Office, Comrade has consistently performed his assigned duties well, demonstrating strategic thinking, a high sense of responsibility, and a serious and objective work style. Despite only recently joining the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, he has proactively grasped the Ministry's situation and work, showing a determination to fulfill his assigned responsibilities effectively.

The Minister affirmed that the nomination of Comrade Lam Thi Phuong Thanh was carried out in accordance with the correct procedures and in compliance with the law. The conference proceeded to gather voter opinions as prescribed, serving as a basis for completing the next steps in the process of nominating candidates for the National Assembly.

Speaking at the Conference, Permanent Deputy Minister Lam Thi Phuong Thanh respectfully thanked the Politburo for trusting and nominating her to run for election as a delegate to the 16th National Assembly; and thanked Minister Nguyen Van Hung, the Standing Committee of the Party Committee, and the leadership of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism for organizing the conference in accordance with regulations, with the responsible and full participation of the delegates.

Permanent Deputy Minister Lam Thi Phuong Thanh delivered a speech at the conference.

According to Permanent Deputy Minister Lam Thi Phuong Thanh, participating in the election for National Assembly representative is both an honor and a great responsibility. The National Assembly is the highest state power organ, playing a decisive role in major national issues, drafting the Constitution and laws, and performing important oversight functions.

If elected to the National Assembly, Permanent Deputy Minister Lam Thi Phuong Thanh affirmed that she would strive to fulfill her role as a representative of the people and the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, listening to and reflecting the opinions of voters in her workplace, her constituency, and the entire country; and continuously learning and improving to meet the demands of the country's comprehensive and multi-faceted issues. In her current position at the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, she pledged to make every effort and dedicate all her heart and responsibility to successfully complete the assigned tasks.

100% of the delegates voted in favor of nominating Ms. Lam Thi Phuong Thanh as a candidate for the 16th National Assembly.

At the Conference, delegates voted to express their confidence in the nominated candidate by raising their hands. The voting results showed that 100% of delegates agreed to nominate Ms. Lam Thi Phuong Thanh, Member of the Central Committee of the Party, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, and Permanent Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism, as a candidate for the 16th National Assembly.
