National conference to summarize the Project to Support Women in Starting a Business for the period 2017-2025

On November 30, 2025, in Hanoi, the Vietnam Women's Union held a conference to review the Project "Supporting Women to Start a Business in the 2017-2025 Period" (Project 939); deploy the Project "Supporting Women to Start a Business in the 2026-2035 Period" (Project 2415); commend typical cooperatives managed by women in 2025 (Project 01). Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh attended and delivered a speech at the conference. The conference was connected online to the bridge points of provinces and cities.

After 8 years of implementation, the Project "Supporting Women to Start a Business" for the period 2017-2025 (Project 939) has achieved outstanding achievements, affirming the effectiveness of a correct policy and consistent with the requirements of socio -economic development of the country. Through the support of the Women's Union at all levels in training, capital connection, and market consulting, more than 118,500 women have started businesses and started businesses; 1,666 cooperatives and over 6,000 cooperative groups managed and operated by women have been supported to establish; 130,000 newly established enterprises have been consulted and supported to improve their capacity; 187 projects have won the "Women Start a Business" Contest. Thereby, thousands of business models have been formed and developed sustainably; tens of thousands of women have escaped poverty, creating jobs for the community.

For Lang Son province, in the period of 2017 - 2025, 100% of specialized Union officials at all levels were trained to raise awareness and methods to support women in starting a business; 1,646 women's union heads were also trained to improve their capacity; 153,000 members, reaching 90% of the total number of members in the province, were educated about jobs and starting a business. Business start-up and entrepreneurship support activities were effectively implemented, helping 1,410 women start a business model, of which nearly 100% were ethnic minority women. Unions at all levels have mobilized the formation of 106 cooperative groups and 28 cooperatives managed by women.

Speaking at the conference, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh acknowledged and highly appreciated the achievements in the movement to support women in starting businesses, and the great contributions of women in all fields of the country. The Prime Minister emphasized that in the new context, the support for women in starting businesses needs to continue to be implemented effectively, actively innovate, and enhance digital transformation; women should promote the spirit of "3 pioneers, 5 masters", constantly strive, pioneer, innovate, master finance, technology, and master life. The Prime Minister also requested ministries, branches, and localities to closely coordinate, pay attention, and increase resources to support women in accessing knowledge, technology, and start-up capital; review and develop mechanisms and policies suitable to reality; prioritize models and projects for women to be masters; On the other hand, strengthen the connection between the State - enterprises - international organizations - experts, promote public-private cooperation in digital skills training, legal support, brand building and market expansion for women businesses./.
