Provincial Association of the Elderly deploys work tasks for 2026

On the morning of December 9, at the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee, the Provincial Association of the Elderly (Elderly) Executive Committee held a conference to deploy tasks for 2026 and summarize 5 years of implementing the "Action Month for the Elderly in Vietnam". Comrade Ha Thi Ngo, Member of the Central Executive Committee of the Vietnam Association of the Elderly, President of the Provincial Association of the Elderly chaired the conference.

Overview of the Conference.

The conference heard a report on the Association's work after the merger; the results of the "Old Age - Bright Example" movement in 2025; the draft summary of 5 years of implementing the "Action Month for the Elderly in Vietnam" in the period 2021-2025. Delegates also discussed the draft Plan to implement Plan No. 112/KH-UBND on replicating the model of intergenerational self-help clubs in the period 2025-2030.

In 2025, the whole province will have 177,915 members, reaching over 90% of the elderly; organize 738 training courses with 18,846 members participating; conduct periodic health check-ups for 93,472 elderly; mobilize 15,281 gifts on holidays and Tet. The whole province maintains 1,204 elderly clubs, of which 135 intergenerational self-help clubs operate effectively. In the period of 2021-2025, the movement "Action Month for the Elderly in Vietnam" mobilized over 4.9 billion VND, donated 31,444 gifts; organized thousands of cultural and sports activities attracting more than 42,000 elderly people to participate.

In 2026, the Association at all levels will focus on implementing 9 key tasks, continuing to innovate content and improve the quality of activities at the grassroots level, considering branches and groups as the core to gather members. The Association strives to maintain over 90% of the elderly participating in the Association; 100% of the elderly are eligible to be congratulated, celebrated, and issued health insurance cards; over 90% of grassroots cadres are trained. Health care work is promoted with the "Bright Eyes for the Elderly" Program, expanding the volunteer network, strengthening supervision of policy implementation; promoting the "Old Age - Bright Example" movement, encouraging the elderly to participate in economic development, protecting security and order, building new rural areas, and protecting the environment; organizing to honor exemplary elderly people in the period 2022-2026.

The conference agreed to complete the personnel of the Executive Committee and Standing Committee to prepare for the Provincial Elderly Association Congress, term 2026-2031.
