Yen Bai “Journalist Singing Contest” aims to celebrate 100 years of Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day

On the occasion of the 135th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's birthday and towards the 100th anniversary of Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day (June 21, 1925 - June 21, 2025), on the morning of May 20, at Hong Ha theater, Yen Bai city, Yen Bai Provincial Journalists Association organized the 2025 Journalists' Singing Contest with the theme "Proud Melody".

The contest aims to create a playground for cultural exchange, improve the spiritual life of journalists, and at the same time arouse pride in the profession and love for the homeland through singing.

Participating in this year's contest, in addition to the provincial and central press agencies residing in the province, there are also the Media and Culture Centers of the districts. The contest attracted the attention of many officials, members, and journalists, creating a useful playground, spreading widely to the whole society. This is also an opportunity for journalists in the whole province to exchange and learn; encourage journalists to participate in the vibrant cultural and artistic movement, creating an exciting and healthy atmosphere; at the same time, build a cultural environment in the press agencies to strive together to complete all assigned tasks.

The contest has nearly 20 performances in the categories of group singing, duets and solos. These are the dedicated performances selected by press agencies, Media and Culture Centers to practice and bring to the contest. Through the performances, journalists in the province wish to express their love for the Party, Uncle Ho, their homeland and their love for the noble profession of journalism. At the same time, they express the optimistic spirit and revolutionary will of journalists who are always immersed in the important moments of the country.

After the exciting competitions, the Organizing Committee awarded 5 Encouragement prizes, 4 C prizes, 3 B prizes and 3 A prizes to the best performances in all 3 categories. In the group singing category, the performance "Glory to our Fatherland" by the male and female choir of the Office Association and resident reporters won the first prize; the performance "Echoing words" by reporter Sung A Gia of the Office Association and resident reporters won the first prize for male solo and the first prize for male and female duet was awarded to the performance "Truong Son Dong - Truong Son Tay" by reporters Hai Yen and Duc Quyen of the Office Association and resident reporters.

In addition, the Organizing Committee also awarded additional prizes to contestants with impressive performance style, promising voice and most impressive voice.
