Tomorrow, storm number 3 enters the Gulf of Tonkin
Forecast for today and tonight (next 24 hours), the storm will mainly move west at a speed of 20-25km/h and is likely to strengthen.
At 4am tomorrow morning (July 21), the storm's eye will be on the mainland northeast of Leizhou Peninsula (China), with a storm intensity of level 11-12, gusting to level 15.
During tomorrow day and night, the storm will move west southwest and enter the Gulf of Tonkin.
At 4:00 a.m. on July 22, the storm center was over the sea area of Quang Ninh - Ninh Binh , the storm intensity was currently level 10-11, gusting to level 14.
During the day and night of July 22, the storm moved west-southwest at a speed of about 10km/h, entered the mainland of the Northern provinces and gradually weakened into a tropical depression and then a low pressure area.
Due to the influence of storm No. 3, in the northern sea area of the North East Sea, the wind is strong at level 8-10, near the storm center, it is level 11-12, gusting at level 15, waves are 5-7m high. The sea is very rough.
From the night of July 20, the northern sea area of Bac Bo Gulf (including the special zones of Bach Long Vi, Co To, Cat Hai) will have winds gradually increasing to level 6-7, then increasing to level 8-9, the area near the storm's center will have winds of level 10-11, gusting to level 14, waves 2-4m high, the area near the center will have winds of 3-5m.
From July 21, the sea in the southern Gulf of Tonkin will have winds gradually increasing to level 6-7, near the storm center level 8-9, gusting to level 11, waves 2-4m high.
Ships and boats operating in the above-mentioned dangerous areas are likely to be affected by storms, whirlwinds, strong winds and large waves.
Quang Ninh - Thanh Hoa mainland wind gusts level 10-11
In the coastal areas of Hai Phong - Quang Ninh provinces, there was a storm surge, from 0.5m (Hai Phong) to 0.8m (Quang Ninh), combined with the tide to create a total water level from 4.1m (at Hon Dau, Hai Phong city) to 5m (at Bai Chay, Quang Ninh province), causing flooding in low-lying areas along the coast and river mouths at noon and afternoon on July 22.
From the evening and night of July 21, on the mainland from Quang Ninh to Thanh Hoa, winds will gradually increase to level 7-9, gusting to level 10-11. Further inland, winds will increase to level 6-7, gusting to level 8-9. Near the storm center, winds will increase to level 10-11, gusting to level 14.
From July 21 to 23, in the Northern and North Central regions, there is a possibility of widespread heavy rain with common rainfall of 100-200mm, locally over 300mm in some places.
In particular, the Northeast region, the Northern Delta, Thanh Hoa and Nghe An have heavy to very heavy rain with common rainfall of 200-350mm, locally over 600mm.
Warning of the risk of heavy rain over 150mm in 3 hours causing flooding in low-lying areas, urban areas and landslides and flash floods in mountainous areas.
