On the afternoon of December 9, UEH-ISB Talent School (University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City), Talent Connect Plus and VOCO Center organized the Launching Ceremony of Externship Talent Accelerator in Ho Chi Minh City.
Students "practice" at businesses
At the ceremony, Associate Professor Dr. Tran Ha Minh Quan, Principal of UEH-ISB Talent School, said that this is a short-term internship experience model at businesses for students. Notably, these businesses are all in the top 100 best working businesses in Vietnam.
"Students cannot just learn knowledge in the classroom, but must be given maximum training in a real environment. If we only stop at inviting businesses to talk to students, we cannot expect students to be ready to work" - Associate Professor, Dr. Tran Ha Minh Quan pointed out.
Associate Professor, Dr. Tran Ha Minh Quan shares unforgettable life lessons, hoping that students will understand the importance of "practice" in businesses.
With this program, students will have 2-4 weeks of "real-life" experience at businesses. In early 2026, the school will "open" cooperation with 4 famous businesses including: Central Retail, Guardian, L'Oréal and La Vie. The school aims for 1,000 students to participate.
Students will perform standardized tasks based on real business processes such as collecting actual data at the point of sale and analyzing it according to the 3C model, directly participating in activities at supermarkets, stores or distribution points... Through this, students will be able to further hone their communication, operational and situation handling skills.
Connecting schools and businesses
For businesses, Dr. Le Huynh Phuong Thuc, Founder and General Director of Talent Connect Plus, said that the activity provides a flexible cooperation mechanism, reducing the burden of mentoring but still fostering students' working capacity in a real environment. This is also an opportunity for businesses to expand the source of potential candidates for business internship programs, management internships, etc.
"I hope this experimental model will be replicated in many schools, so that businesses will have more opportunities to recruit suitable students" - Dr. Phuong Thuc shared.

Businesses want graduates to have had more "contact" during their studies to gain more experience and practical skills.

UEH-ISB Talent School students will have many opportunities for internships at businesses.
Ms. Nguyen Ha Trang, Human Resources Director of L'Oreal Vietnam, said that L'Oreal has been operating in Vietnam for more than 18 years. Each year, the company reaches out to 8,500 students for its Talent Incubation and Internship programs.
"Currently, students learn a lot of theory but lack practical experience. I think this is a great program, creating competition among students" - Ms. Trang shared.
The special feature of this program is that students will present reports and receive direct feedback from the business's management.
"This is something that many traditional internship programs have not been able to do. Most students only work with lower-level staff and are rarely directly evaluated by those with the authority to recruit or manage operations," Associate Professor Tran Ha Minh Quan emphasized.
