Specifically, on the evening of November 12, 2025, Nam Thanh commune experienced prolonged heavy rain. Continuous rainfall, combined with strong water flow from upstream, caused the water level in the streams to rise rapidly, causing flash floods.

In a short time, many low-lying areas were flooded, with water rising 1-2 meters in some places. Some households had their houses flooded, forcing them to evacuate their belongings urgently during the night.

Floodwaters not only affected people's lives but also caused great damage to agricultural production. Of these, more than 200 chickens were swept away; many areas of crops and flowers in the fields were flooded and damaged. Villages located near streams or low-lying areas such as Me Pu, Sung Nhon and Da Kai were most affected when the floodwaters poured in.

Regarding transportation, the flood collapsed a concrete bridge on 26/4 Street (Me Pu 8 Village). The 4m wide temporary bridge collapsed, leading to the production area of the District Party Committee Hill, passing through the Cemetery of Me Pu 5 and Me Pu 8 Villages. The total initial damage is estimated at about 3,742 billion VND.

Nam Thanh Commune People's Committee has mobilized local forces to support people in overcoming the consequences and moving their properties. Authorities have cleared the flow and continue to assess the extent of the damage.

Faced with the above situation, the Chairman of the Commune People's Committee and the Head of the Civil Defense Command of Nam Thanh Commune directly went to the deeply flooded areas, along the streams and La Nga River to inspect and direct the response. Along with that, they visited and encouraged the affected households.

Authorities also support the relocation of assets and ensure safety for households at risk of being separated; provide guidance on prevention skills, and help people proactively respond to complex weather conditions.

Nam Thanh Commune People's Committee also mobilized people to harvest crops early, dredge drainage ditches, check the internal irrigation system; coordinate with specialized units to clear the flow, and clean up houses after the water recedes.
