On October 29, 30 and the morning of October 31, heavy to very heavy rain occurred in Ha Tinh province, causing flooding in many areas, disrupting teaching and learning activities in a number of educational institutions.
According to a report by the Ha Tinh Department of Education and Training, as of 9 a.m. on October 31, 51 out of 676 educational institutions in the province had to temporarily suspend teaching, with 36,768 students in 1,022 classes absent from school due to the effects of floods.


Specifically, 41 schools (25,833 students, 764 classes) at the preschool, primary and secondary levels have temporarily closed; 6 schools (8,612 students, 201 classes) at the high school level have had to stop studying; 2 centers (948 students, 24 classes) at the vocational education and continuing education center level have had to stop studying; and 2 schools (1,375 students, 33 classes) at the secondary and college levels have temporarily suspended operations. The remaining educational institutions still maintain normal teaching and learning.
Faced with the complicated developments of floods and rains, the Department of Education and Training of Ha Tinh has directed schools to regularly monitor the weather situation, proactively provide information and ensure absolute safety for students and teachers.
Units are required to be on duty 24/7, ready to move and preserve facilities and teaching equipment, and clean, disinfect, and treat the environment immediately after the water recedes to quickly stabilize teaching and learning.
