The “1,000 school toilets” project, implemented by the Ministry of Education and Training in coordination with partners, with a total budget of 61.5 billion VND, aims to build and renovate at least 1,000 new toilets in disadvantaged localities over a period of 10 years. The project aims to improve school hygiene conditions and at the same time form personal hygiene habits for students.
In 2025 alone, the project started 102 projects in 11 provinces, of which 39 projects were completed and put into use. In the same year, the implementing units also donated 300 toilet projects, with a total value of 18 billion VND.
In addition to building facilities, the project also installed hand washing instruction boards according to Ministry of Health standards, provided hand washing water, organized training on personal hygiene, clean water use, adolescent reproductive health and implemented many communication activities and hygiene festivals at schools.
